Morari Bapu’s Ram Katha to collect fund for Bihar flood victims
Naliya(Kutch), DeshGujarat, 7th of September, 2008
Morari Bapu’s Ram Katha in Kutch would be instrumental to help flood affected people of Bihar. On Sunday morning, at Ram Katha venue in Kutch’s Naliya town, Morari Bapu floated an idea of collecting fund from his Ram Katha audience for Bihar flood victims.
Morari Bapu, addressing the people gathered for Ram Katha said “an empty bag would be passed to you, donate whatever you wish for Bihar flood victims. If there is a pain in your finger, your whole body would feel it. Likewise if there is a calamity in Bihar, we in Gujarat here should feel same pain and should give our response in a direction to heal it.”
Voicing his verdict over apprehensions on possible misuse of the assistance to Bihar he said “Some people have expressed their apprehensions that assistance to Bihar could be misused and could not reach to the real needy people but I think it would reach. Whoever would consume even a part of the assistance would be a needy person. Only a hungry person can consume food.”
On a humorous note he added an example to this”When your car stops at the cross roads in a city like Mumbai, beggars do come and stand outside. You immediately shut the glass window off in a response to this. Think, when we people go to the temples to beg something, how many times God might have to shut his glass window if there any!”
Naliya Ram Katha is Morari Bapu’s 664th Ram Katha. All trains to and from Kutch are booked around Ram Katha scheduled. 10 extra state transport public buses are allotted to accommodate extra rush for Ram Katha. Around 20,000 people are attending Ram Katha including around 1,500 Non Resident Gujaratis. 25,000 vegetable seeds are distributed free of cost to local farmers at Ram Katha venue. An electronic Ramayan exhibition, folk music, folk dance, Santavani, cultural programs etc. are organized near Ram Katha ground.
After Naliya in Kutch, Morari Bapu’s next two Ram Kathas are scheduled at Kampala in Uganda and Mahuva in Gujarat respectively this month.
