Gujarat students to get more seats in state’s PG medical colleges

The students of Gujarat will now be able to secure more than 80% post graduate medical seats in the state’s medical colleges.

Gujarat Health Minister Mr. Jaynarayan Vyas today announced that the state government has considered recommendations of the committee headed by MLA Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria for the benefit of Gujarati students aspiring to get admission in post graduate seats available in the state.

According to the minister, now onwards 50% Post Graduate/Medical seats quota owned by the state government would be allotted to the suitable students of Gujarat only.

Only those who have passed 12th standard from education institution of Gujarat would be given admission on merit in post graduate medical college from Gujarat govt quota. Parents of such students must have been settled in Gujarat for last ten years at least.

Earlier due to All India Common Test, Gujarati students had less chances of getting admission in compare to the students from out side the state. Students from out side the Gujarat will continue to have good chance of getting admission in post graduate from Central government’s 50% quota. Earlier they were eating up large share from Gujarat’s quota too.
