Modi inaugurating two Japanese units in Gujarat in two days

“After Japan partnered with Gujarat in Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit earlier this year, Gujarat has become a place of attraction for Japanese industries and companies,” Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said today in inaugural function of Sakata Inx(India) Ltd company’s ink manufacturing unit at Panoli industrial complex in central Gujarat’s Bharuch district. Sakata Inx (India) Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Sakata Inx Corporation, Japan.

Terming this week as “Japan-week” in Gujarat, the Chief Minister said: “today I am inaugurating Japanese company Sakata Corporation’s ink manufacturing unit here, and tomorrow I am going to inaugurate a plant of another Japanese company – Hitachi Corporation at Kadi in north Gujarat.”

Welcoming Japan’s interest in Buddhism, Modi announced that a world-class Buddha Mandir will be built in Gujarat. Modi said Gujarat’s relation with Japan should not be limited to commerce and industries but should spread across cultural and philosophical horizons.

“Bharuch and Kutch are two districts in Gujarat where five SEZs each are under construction. Bharuch will have a Special Economic Zone for Castor oil derivative and valuation products. Gujarat produces 80% Castor in the world. Through this proposed SEZ, Bharuch will be able to conquer the world market of about 300 Castor based value added products,” said Modi.

Japanese Economic and Development Minister Keizo Takewaka praised industrial environment of Gujarat and supporting approach of the government. President of Sakata Inx H.Takamaru expressed his happiness and satisfaction for selecting Gujarat to set up his company’s second unit in India.

The 20 acre Panoli plant in Bharuch district produces high-quality printing inks to cater to the specific demands of the packaging & publishing industry.
