Keeping the theme: ‘Planet Earth – our home: Explore, Share and Care,’ and the hosting place – Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad in mind, a cute, wonderful, childish and appealing logo has been designed for the 17th National Children Science Congress which is scheduled to be held in December this year.

The logo is the real picture of the Planet Earth Pavilion which is coming up in Gujarat Science City in a very big way. The Planet Earth dome is one of the larger single monolythic dome in the world and being recognized as an icon of Gujarat during the last Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor’s Meet in January 2009.

The Planet Earth Pavilion in the Gujarat Science City is going to be a unique pavilion for educating the visitors about our own Planet Earth and its rich biotic and abiotic resources, natural catastrophes and technological advances we can achieve sustainable development.

In this way the 17th NCSC logo is all set to invite quest for the participants on the theme, about the venue and the progressive state.

A video projection will indicate the intensity in Richter scale, the location of the epicenter, secondary tremors and destruction caused by the earthquake.

The Resources of Earth Section will take the visitors to the interior of the earth – a simulated elevator ride to the deep interior of the earth – taking visitors to a faithfully recreated underground coal mine, showing coal seams, long-wall and short-wall coal cutting, gathering and transportation, mine supports, sand stowing, De-watering, and safety devices. There are also surrounding exhibits on petroleum, Geo-thermal energy, nuclear power plant, and collective display of gems, minerals, corals, pearls, sea nodules, and planktuns.
