Four new medical colleges will create 2348 direct jobs

The Government of Gujarat’s Health department has planned to start four new medical colleges in the state next year. The colleges will come up in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Valsad and Patan. The department of Health, Government of Gujarat will have to appoint 2348 staff members to start the planned colleges.
In a recent resolution, the department of Health has decided to appoint 244 teaching staff(61 for each college), 172 resident doctors(43 in each college), 400 non teaching staff(100 in each college), 700 nurses(175 in each college), 400 administrative staff(100 in each college) and 432 other staff(108 in each college). Thus each medical college will have 587 employees and in total job opportunities will be at 2348.
