Petrol, diesel prices go up in Ahmedabad,Gandhinagar,Surat

The hike in petrol prices in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat came into effect last midnight. The hike in petrol prices is approximately 89 paise a litre and in diesel about 28 paise.
From today onwards 13 big cities, including Ahmedabad are moving from Euro-III grade fuel to Euro-IV. Euro-III petrol costs Re 0.26 a litre more and same grade diesel Re 0.21 a litre. However overall change in prices in various cities depend upon the local taxes, excise and customs duty.Till yesterday the price of petrol was Rs 50.84 and diesel was Rs 39.75. In February this year, the fuel prices were increased by Rs 2.84 litre in petrol and Rs 2.85 in diesel, thanks to central government budget.
The rest of the country will switch from Euro-II specification fuel to Euro-III in phases, beginning with Goa on Thursday.
