Vodafone unveils Airship A-60+ in Ahmedabad

Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, today introduced the world renowned Airship A-60+ in the skies of Ahmedabad. Vodafone customers will get a chance to be seated in the spacious deck and enjoy a leisurely journey of the scenic terrain beneath.
Vodafone customers can get opportunity to be seated in the spacious deck of this magnificent flying machine and enjoy a leisurely journey of the scenic terrain beneath by participating in the ‘Win an Airship ride contest’. Customers need to register for the contest by calling 123123 (toll free) and answer a question on IVR. The ‘Happy To Help’ caller tune also gets automatically downloaded free of cost on the caller’s’ mobile phone.
Vodafone has partnered with Lightship Asia Pacific, world’s largest airship operator to bring this popular air vessel to India. The Airship A-60+ is manufactured by American Blimp Corporation. The large balloon structure is filled with 68,000 cubic feet of helium and is 128ft long, 36ft wide and 44ft high. In a city it will fly above 1000ft for 7-8 hours. The seating cabin under its belly can seat 3 passengers other than the pilot and co-pilot. The airship cruises at an average speed of 32mph (28 knots) and can reach a max speed of 53 mph (46 knots) in favorable wind conditions.
