Modi to open new Emergency Management Centre in Amdavad

A high-tech 108 emergency management center has been set up at Kathawada near Ahmedabad, to effectively manage all the life-saving activities carried out by 108 ambulances. The center will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 1st July 2010, Thursday, 5:00 PM.
The new management center jointly set up by State Government, Central Government and GVK MIR, on Naroda-Kathawada road, will also serve during natural calamities, rail accidents, epidemics, communal riots along with accident cases and is expected to make entire emergency services network in the State more effective.
EMRI 108 emergency service has already earned high acclaim from people for its prompt services. 108 ambulances take about 26 minutes to rush accident place in rural areas and about 14 minutes in cities. 403 of such ambulance vans are operational within State. Vans are also equipped with ventilator and defibrillator to handle critical cases without delaying.
