Sixth river bridge on Tapi in Surat to benefit 7 lakh people

Dabholi-Jahangirpura bridge over river Tapi, opened today by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri narendra Modi in Surat will be beneficial for about seven lakh people of the city.
Surat Municipal Corporation has constructed this sixth bridge over river Tapi in city at a cost of Rs. 98.30 crore. Thanks to this bridge, the people of Varachha, Katargam and Dabholi will be saved from city traffic while reaching Jahangirpura, Rander and Adajan. Similarly Adajan, Rander and Jahangirpura will be connected to Ved, Katargam, Varachha and to the highway.
Thanks to this new bridge, the 45-60 minute distance will be not just five to ten minutes affair. This bridge will also end the problems that people face in monsoon season when weir-cum-causeway is blocked.
