Flying Rani derails, Surat-Mumbai rail traffic affected

Four coaches of Surat-Mumbai Flying Rani express derailed just about one kilometer from Surat railway station near Sahara Darwaja today morning. None is seriously injured or killed in this incident. A minor derail of AC reservation and general coaches has affected scheduled timings of about 50 trains on Mumbai-Surat route.
According to Shri Chandrayan, PRO, Western Railway, Down line railway transportation(Ahmedabad-Mumbai) was made functional again in the morning itself, but Upside line would be functional again only in the evening.
Several trains including Gujarat Express, Hawda Express, Shatabdi Express, Firozpur Janata Express, Karnavati Express, Saurashtra Janata Express are running late due to this incident.
While Mumbai-Ahemdabad trains were stopped at Udhana, Sachin and Maroli stations, the trains from Vadodara were stopped at Kim-Kosamba.
Hundreds of passengers formed long queues to cancel their tickets and get refund.
