ACPC postpones Gujarat engineering college admissions for 10 days
Ahmedabad, 5 July, 2011
Admissions to the engineering and pharmacy colleges are rescheduled by the admission committee for professional courses (ACPC also known as JACPC). Thus the students wanting admission in engineering colleges of Gujarat will have to wait some more time to get admission. As per the new schedule, online registration and submission of forms will be held between July 5 to 8 at the help centre. The revised merit list will be declared on July 10. Filling and alteration of choices round 1 is scheduled between July 11 to 15.
The postponement in ACPC admission process is due to the recent decision of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to lower the minimum percentage required for admission in engineering courses to 45 per cent(earlier it was 55%).
A notification in this regard says: “All the 5700 students of Gujarat, eligible under the 45 per cent criteria, will be allowed to fill up and submit application forms from Tuesday till July 8. The first merit list will be announced on July 10, and the final list for admission will be declared on July 19.
