Rs 21,239 cr is the target of IT revenue from Gujarat this fiscal

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)’s given target to the Income tax department of Gujarat is Rs 21, 239 crores for the fiscal year 2011-2012. Of this the target for Ahmedabad office is Rs Rs 11,371 crores, while the target for Surat is Rs 4237 crores and Vadodara is 2398 crores.
The Commissionerate of Ahmedabad has been given the target of increasing the income by Rs 1760 crores this fiscal. Last fiscal, the Ahmedbad office had earned Rs 9611 crore out of the Rs 18, 136 crores which were accounted for Gujarat. The nationwide target in the year 2010-2011, the target for the country was Rs 4, 41, 640 crores.
Gujarat has accounted Rs 3008 crores revenue in the first quarter of the current fiscal year which is 24.3% up compare to Rs 2419 crores in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year.
