Gujarati Thali is in-trend these days, and growing number of restaurents are now serving Gujarati thalis in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and even abroad.
But it is perhaps for the first time that a renown foreign hotel chain has become part of this phenomena.
Courtyard by Marriott first opened world’s first vegetarian restaurant in its hotel chain in Ahmedabad.
And now the hotel has introduced Gujarati thali in this restaurant.
“Yes we are introducing for the first time a Gujarati Thali for our patrons, to experience the magic of local Gujarati cuisine. The uniqueness of the cuisine is owed to an arty harmony of spices and flavors which differentiates it from other cuisines across India and results in preparations which are sweet, spicy and salty at the same time,” said Parul Thakur, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad.
She further said, “now you can satiate your gourmet palate with delightful Gujarati specialties like farsan (traditional Guajarati finger food), bataka nu shaak (potato cooked with spices), Paneer nu shaak (cottage cheese cooked in Indian spices), rice, dal, kadhi, phulka, thepla, Rotla (assorted Guajarati breads) and festive sweets served on a silver platter at Shakahari.”
“With the introduction of Gujarati Set thali at Shakahari, we look forward to making Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad the ultimate and preferred culinary destination of the city,” She added.
Satej Saigaonkar, Executive Chef, Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad says, “Gujarati food is popular not only among the local patrons but also among international guests. Therefore, we at Shakahari, believe in creating classic Gujarati dishes by using simplistic techniques to keep the taste buds of the health conscious and sinfully indulgent equally satiated.”
The Gujarati Thali is priced only at Rs. 650/- inclusive of taxes at Shakahari
