Trade bodies of Dubai and Surat to ink six MoUs

Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries(SGCCI) and various trade organizations of Dubai will sign six MoUs for partnership in the areas of diamond, jewelery, textile, real estate, infrastructure and international business.
Office bearers of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Diamond Bourse, Multi Commodity Centre among others will visit Surat to explore new areas of partnership between Dubai and Surat on 18 April.
According to Rohit Mehta, President of SGCCI, Dubai wants to become world’s diamond trading capital replacing Antwerp. In this regard, delegation of Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently visited America. Surat is their next destination. Dubai wishes that Surat based diamond traders shift their Antwerp offices to Dubai, Shri Mehta said.
Those visiting Surat this week include Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair Dubai Chamber of Commerce President, Peter Meeus, Chairman of Dubai Diamond Exchange, Ahmed Bin Sulayem Executive Chairman Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Damask International Chairman Mr.Ibrahim among others. They are likely to invite Surat based diamond companies to open their offices in Dubai.
