Kadana pipeline project work to kick off in Daohod on Gujarat day

On 1st of May 2012, on the occasion of Gujarat day, Chief Minister Narendra Modi will lay stone of Kadana dam oriented water supply project for Dahod city during an event to be held at the government engineering college in Usarvan village.
A Rs 127 crore project consists 82-km long pipeline connecting Kadana dam and Dahod that would have capacity to supply daily 3 crore liter water. The project included an approach bridge, pump house, intake well, two underground tanks with capacity of 26 lakh liter, and one underground storage tank having 1 crore liter capacity, one tank with 1 crore liter capacity, a water purifying plant with capacity to process 3 crore 70 lakh liter water per day, two pump houses with 260 kw and 250 kw pumps(total 9).
Local sources told DeshGujarat that the Chief Minister is likely to announce a Rs 456 crore Kadana oriented project to supply water to 210 villages including the areas under Zalod municipality. The project will cover 109 villages of Zalod taluka at a cost of Rs 289.38 crore, 58 villages of Limkheda taluka at a cost of Rs 19.69 crore, 33 villages of Dahod taluka at a cost of Rs 83.29 crore and 10 villages of Limkheda taluka at a cost of Rs 63.65 crore. Thus the project will cover 209 villages of four talukas involving 4,99,373 beneficiaries.
