“River Front project likely to complete by November,BRTS by August”

Guruprasad Mohapatra, Commissioner of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Thursday said that the target to complete the BRTS project in Ahmedabad has been fixed as August 2012, while the Sabarmati River Front Project will be completed by November 2012.
“By August we will add another 40 km stretch to existing 40 km route of BRTS,” he said.
On the progress of the Sabarmati River Front project, he said, “construction of roads on both sides of Sabarmati river is going on. This and other works at River front including the construction of retaining wall, development of Paldi urban forest, a garden, Gujari bazar are going on speedily, and they are likely to complete by November.”
Mohapatra who completed one year on existing post on Thursday said that all model roads were declared red-zone/no vendor zone, and by 31st of July, all vendors will be relocated to prescribed places allotted nearby.
