-Nine persons reportedly lost vision after cataract operation at private trust operated Ravishankar Maharaj hospital.

-FIR has been lodged against Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Ajay Bhadu and former Municipal Commissioner Dinesh Brahmbhatt according to the sources.

-Acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Bhaskar Bhattacharya today took oath as regular Chief Justice at Gandhinagar Raj Bhavan in presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi and others.

-Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhadia and leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil left for Delhi to discuss three-name panel of 100 seats with central leader Ahmed Patel.

-Uma Bharti is in Gujarat in connection with Ganga yatra. Rajkot, Somnath and Dwarka are the places she is scheduled to visit. Uma refused to comment on politics.

-MJP leader Gordhan Zadafia on Saturday said in Vadodara that in August, a big rank and file of BJP and Congress will join the MJP.

-Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Japan tour will be covered by Etv Gujarati and TV0 Gujarati channels. A pair of Camera person and senior journalist of both these channels will visit Japan with Shri Modi.

-Dipda Darwaja case verdict will arrive on 30th July in Mehsana sessions court.

-As per the decision taken by the Gujarat government, irrigation water was released today from Panam, Ukai, and Kadana reservoirs to support the cultivation.

-Shri Nitin Patel, Water resources minister of Gujarat on Friday announced that irrigation water will be released from Panam, Ukai and Kadana dam from Saturday onwards

-Gujarat High Court on Friday rejected the plea of suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt to set aside criminal procedure initiated against him in the 1990 custodial death case.

-Acting Chief Justice Bhaskar Chaterjee to sworn in as regular Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court on Saturday at 11.00 am in Gandhinagar Raj Bhavan.

-Supreme Court grants more time to investigate Tulsi Prajapati encounter case. A new deadline is 14 August .

-Narendra Modi’s Bhavnagar visit programme to dedicate a new cable bridge is being prepared. Possible date of the programme is 11 August when district BJP headquarter will also be opened.

-As many as 13,000 Engineering and Pharmacy seats are likely to remain vacant at the end of the admission process in Gujarat.

-“The internal rift among the UPA allies should be viewed in the context of present situation in the country, when there is a perception that this government is in a state of paralysis. How will this rift further deteriorate this paralysis should be a concern for all,” Shri LK Advani said, talking to reporters in Gandhinagar replying to questions about the current stand-off between Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Congress.

“We (India) are progressing in the 21st century very fast. But the sudden change in the pattern of progress is a matter of concern, and in this situation the rift between UPA allies is an issue that should make us worry,” Advani said.
