Ahmedabad, 9 October 2012
Speaking in north Gujarat at one of the public meetings during his Vivekananda Yatra, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi attacked UPA Chairperson and national president of Congress part smt Sonia Gandhi on Haryana rape issue.
Modi in his speech said, “Today madom Soniaji is on Haryana visit. She is in Jind. Who is in power in Haryana?(Modi asks people) Congress is ruling there. And you might have seen on the TV, that there has been daily one rap there. In one of the incidents, a Dalit daughter committed suicide after she was raped. On one hand there’s atrocity and rap happening there on Dalit women in Congress ruled state and on the other hand Soniaji comes to Rajkot and dares to defame the state of Gujarat and advises us!”
Modi said that Sonia went to Haryana not to take care of rape victim’s family, but to take care of her government in the state.
It should be noted here that last week in Rajkot in Gujarat Sonia Gandhi had in her speech criticized Gujarat govt for atrocities against Dalits and “unsafe atmosphere in Gujarat for women.”
