Historical Somnath Mandir was declared closed for a few hours starting from 6.00 pm on Thursday 27th December 2012 to 8.00 am on Friday 28th December 2012 for public due to a massive revamping activity inside the Garbha griha – the core part of the mandir where Shri Somnath Jyotirlinga is located. The revamping activity involved golden work worth crores of rupees. A new look of Shri Somnath mandir’s Garbhagriha is presented in the photographs above.
