Modi requests centre to allot Pravasi Bharatiya Divas function of year 2015 to Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has proposed the central government to hold annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in year 2015 in Gujarat.
Addressing the Gujarat session of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Sammelan at Kochi via video conference, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “Mahatma Gandhi came back to India in 1915. The nation will celebrate 100 years of Gandhi’s arrival from Africa in 2015. And we in Gujarat want to mark this occasion by hosting Pravasi Bharatiya Divas function in our state. I have requested the centre to give us an opportunity to hold this event in Gujarat in 2015 because Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’s date is associated with Gandhi’s arrival in India. I welcome you all to join it, if we get centre’s nod.”
Modi thanked union minister Vyalar Ravi for attending Gujarat session of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas sammelan. He admired that Union minister in his address admired Gujarat and the people of Gujarat.
