One of the eye-catching parts of the Gujarat assembly election result last year was Congress party’s total defeat in Bharuch district. The party couldn’t secure a single seat in Bharuch, the district that is among two districts in the state with highest Muslim population. Bharuch also has good number of tribal population, but Congress just couldn’t win any seat in tribal belt too in this district.
The Congress party has now started taking corrective steps. The party has suspended its three local workers for six years.
They are Bharuch district panchayat’s Ikhar seat member Usman Mindi, Bharuch district panchayat’s former vice president Thakor Vasava and Valia’s Ramu Vasava.
All three are declared suspended by Bharuch district Congress committee chief Rajendra sinh Rana after approval of such action at the state level.
