Water,Agriculture,Fodder situation:Bokhiria shares figures in assembly

Minister Babubhai Bokhiria today shared some figures on the situation of drinking water, agriculture and fodder in the Gujarat Assembly:
-9633 villages and 131 towns are supplied Narmada waters through pipeline.
-Saurashtra and Kutch get 110 crore liter Narmada water instead of earlier 80 crore liter.
-Earlier Saurashtra-Kutch were supplied 770 MLD water, now it’s 1000 MLD.
-Break up of district-wise approximate water supply: Bhavnagar-250, Amreli-100, Junagadh-100, Porbandar-50, Rajkot-410, Jamnagar-200, Surendranagar-150 MLD.
-3250 km pipeline and 2556 km bulk pipeline supply water to Kutch, Saurashtra and north Gujarat villages and towns.
-Out of total 123 water schemes, 85 are over, 28 are in progress, 10 are under planning.
-Dharoi oriented scheme supplies water to Mehsana district’s 380 villages and five towns.
-Narmada canal oriented water scheme supplies water to 349 villages of Mehsana district.
-In north Gujarat, 332 km long Sujlam Suflam spreading canal provides irrigation cover to 70,000 ha area.
-In entire north Gujarat, 1,68,500 ha area has been facilitated with irrigation cover.
-In November 2012, 81.34 lakh ha area was covered under agriculture as per the satellite image.
-Rabi crop area is 29.84 lakh ha
-Seeds for 1,61,000 acre sowing of fodder are distributed.
-In 2012, 11.34 lakh ha area witnessed sowing of fodder.
-136 villages of Kutch are provided drinking water.
