Projects of more than Rs 275 Crores on fast track for development of Ambaji

Ambaji, the popular pilgrimage site of Gujarat is getting revamped with facilities and development projects of more than Rs. 275 crore currently under implementation by Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust (Ambaji Temple Trust) and State Government of Gujarat. Ambaji Temple Trust’s ambitious project is going to give a complete makeover to this ancient pilgrimage site. Ambaji being one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, assumes a special significance amongst followers. Ambaji Temple Trust has undertaken these projects to facilitate the tourists with better security, lodging, entertainment and medical amenities.

Starting with widening of the approach roads to Ambaji, the initiatives lined up as part of this project will soon enhance the experience for thousands of tourists that come to the holy shrine on a daily basis. The work on revamping of ‘Mandir Parisar’ (temple campus) is almost 70% done. The ‘Gabbar Parikrama’ has also been remodeled wherein installation of 51 Adhyashakti stone carvings is nearing completion and will be lit-up by solar & wind energy. Work is in progress for a unique Helium Balloon installation that will allow tourists to take a view of the temple and its surrounding from an elevated height.

“From widening of approach road to spacious, well paved Parikrama Path and from solar power lights with backup facility to multimedia water laser show, the popular Ambaji temple town is now getting a complete face lift. Besides pilgrimage place, to make the town as tourist attraction, a full-fledged luxury hotel, a Wellness Center & Spa, and a theme park at Raichada will also come up in the coming days. An adventure sport facility equipped with interesting rides too is nearing completion. Yet another attraction that is coming up in the temple town is a 3D film projection facility to be completed by the legendary Ramanand Sagar group.” informed Mr. Vipul Mittra, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Aviation, Government of Gujarat.

In a bid to enhance the security arrangements for the tourists State Government of Gujarat and Ambaji Temple Trust has also installed an automatic surveillance system. Ambaji Temple Trust has also included a special solar power plant as part of this project which will be used to provide eco friendly, renewable energy source for the street lights.

Ambaji Temple Trust has already accomplished the construction of 200 bed hospitals with all state of the art medical amenities and eminent doctors. Million of devotees visit Ambaji every year, and with the addition of these amenities the popular shaktipith of Western India is all set to become the cynosure of devotees from across the country.
