Gujarat Congress passes three resolutions in state executive meeting

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) today in its executive meeting passed three resolution.

The first resolution demands reversal of The Gujarat Universities Laws (amendment) Bill 2013, and The Gujarat State School Service Commission Bill 2013. It should be mentioned that Governor has not approved any of these two bills yet.

The second resolution seeks reversal of The Gujarat Lokayukta Aayog Bill 2013 which also has not been granted approval by Governor.

The third resolution seeks cancellation of The Gujarat Irrigation and Drainage Bill 2013 which has been approved by Governor.

All these bills were passed in Gujarat Assembly’s Budget session early this year.

The state executive meet mourned deaths of MP Mukesh Gadhvi and MLA Savitaben Khant and observed two-minute silence.

Speaking in the state executive meeting, Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia said that activities of party workers will be reviewed and those who work more, will get more opportunities. Congress is preparing for aggressive agitation on local level on the issue of drinking water supply. State BJP govt is not sharing the details of crop insurance to crop insurance companies in scarcity-hit areas. The state BJP govt is playing tricks with farmers on the issue of agricultural landing. The state govt has announced waiver of interest on agri landing taken from cooperative banks, but most of the farmers have taken landing from nationalized bank. BJP govt should give benefit of the waiver scheme to all farmers as per the central government scheme. Congress party will organize agitation programmes at district and taluka level on the issues of crop insurance, relief on interest on agri landing and irrigation water.

Speaking in the meeting, leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela emphasized on need to connect newer people in party organization, and self search in organization.

Congress high-command for Gujarat, Shri Mohan Prakash said that Congress party will give next programmes at taluka and district level, and then after will hold state level programmes. Rahul Gandhi is meeting various organizations countrywide, and will also visit Gujarat.

Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil said that present government in state has stopped distribution of cash to labourers and poor families in the time of drought contrary to earlier Congress governments. He said Congress government had supplied water through train in past. Present govt has failed to provide relief to citizens during drought.

AICC Secretary Sagar Rayka, Irshad Mirza, senior leader Urmilaben Patel, Raju Parmar, Women’s cell President Sonal Patel, Youth Congress President Mansinh Dodia, NSUI President Adityarajsinh Gohil, Sevadal’s main organizer Mangalsinh Solanki, Congress MPs, MLAs, senior leaders etc attended the meeting which was conducted by state General Secretary Indravijaysinh Gohil.

After state executive meet, various city/district Congress unit Presidents met state party President Arjun Modhwadia, leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela, Gujarat Congress in-charge Mohan Prakash and senior leader Shaktisinh Gohil in personal meetings.
