Do not show us the fear of CBI:Narendra Modi to centre(Video)

Gandhinagar, 24 June 2013

Without mincing any words, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today warned the Congress Government at the Centre against misusing Central Investigating Agency (CBI) as a political tool to destroy Gujarat Government, Gujarat’s police, ministers and other leaders.

While addressing a youth rally here to mark week-long Vivekanand Youth Employment Campaign, he said, “Modi is not afraid of CBI or widely known as Congress Bureau of Investigation or any other politicized agency. No government is going to rule Delhi for ever.”

Mr. Modi said the people of Gujarat are well aware of the Congress-led UPA Government’s conspiracy and vain attempts to malign Gujarat or stall Gujarat’s development. Rather, he counseled the UPA Government to concentrate on relief and rehabilitation of catastrophe-hit Uttarakhand.

On employment

Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said that Gujarat has provided employment to 1.59-lakh youth during 1,867 job fairs held across the state in collaboration with the private sector during the last two years.

Emphasizing the need for skill development to increase employability, he called for modernization of the education system to make it need-base in collaboration with the private sector.

Mr. Modi was speaking at a youth rally at Mahatma Mandir here to mark distribution of appointment letters by the private sector to 10,373 youth from six districts of Ahmedabad Division during the week-long Vivekanand Youth Employment Campaign. In all, 43,004 have been provided jobs at similar functions held in Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.

There was a time when Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) were neglected but the Gujarat Government introduced a massive ‘Skill Development’ campaign during Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit (VGGIS) in 2005. It is a form of value-addition for the job market. This was launched keeping in mind those youth who could not pursue a degree course but deserve to be self-reliant. As many as 415 ITI-trained youth jobs in 10 developed countries, including the USA. The campaign subsequently won the national award. It was handed over by the Prime Minister. Today, Gujarat has the lowest unemployment rate in the country – just one per cent.

Looking to the need of the hour, he said, online admission has been introduced in ITIs from this academic year in which 2-lakh students were admitted in various trades. In a unique initiative, ‘Skill University’ would be started soon in Vadodara on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Labour & Employment Minister Saurabh Patel said that the last decade belonged to Gujarat. It registered double digit growth under the leadership of Chief Minister Narendra Modi with the help of farsighted schemes like Panchamrit Yojna. While Rs.55,000-crore were spent on development works till 2002 during the preceding 42 years, he said, Rs.50,000-crore were spent during 2002-07 and Rs.1.28-lakh crore during 2007-2012. Planning Commission has just sanctioned Rs.59,000-crore for current year.

Prominent among those present at the rally included Social Justice and Youth Affairs Minister Ramanlal Vora, Minister of States for Law Pradeepsinh Jadeja, for Home Rajnikant Patel, for Health Parbat Patel and Animal Husbandry Liladhar Vaghela, MPs, MLAs, Gandhinagar Mayor Mahendrasinh Rana and other office-bearers, Employment & Training Commissioner Sonal Mishra and other senior officers.
