R&R committe approves further work on Narmada dam, next is NCA approval

All the four states and central government will recommend to the Narmada Control Authority that the height of the Narmada dam should be raised from present level of 121.92 metres to 138.64 metres. This decision was taken in a meeting convened by Union government’s department of social justice on Thursday that the process of rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R)
In next step, the committee will submit today’s meeting minutes to the Narmaa Control Authority. The NCA is likely to hold a meeting for reviewing the R&R committee’s report on July 2 in Indore. NCA will grant final permission after approval to this report.
