Bhavnagar, 4 July, 2013
Renovated Yashwantrai Mehta Natya Gruh in Bhavnagar will be re-opened on 11 July. The Natya Gruh was undergoing renovation for last two years, and cultural activities like drama, music shows etc had completely stopped in the city. The inauguration event shall take place on Sunday, 11th of July in presence of Cabinet Minister Shri Raman Vora. In March 2011, the state government had declared Rs. 1.75 crore for renovation of this theater. The auditorium was built in 1980s, but due to lack of proper maintenance, status of everything, including the stage, chairs, sound system, lights, water proofing of roof etc was continuously deteriorating. Lastly, due to strong winds the cooling tower of hall collapsed. Now the hall is repaired and renovated and ready to open.
