New Delhi, 12 August 2013
The Supreme Court of India today gave relief to BJP General Secretary Amit Shah and withdrew earlier imposed condition directing Amit Shah to appear before the CBI on every alternative Saturday. Shri Shah – accused in Sohrabuddin encounter case – had last week filed a plea seeking relief from this condition. The court today gave him relief.
“We are inclined to modify the said condition, while other conditions will stand,” a bench comprising Chief Justice P Sathasivam and Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai said.
Shri Shah is out on conditional bail. He is BJP’s incharge of Uttar Pradesh state for Lok Sabha polls.
