DWIH New Delhi – Excellence on Tour opens today at Gujarat Science City

Germany is one of the top destinations for science, innovation and education and provides an opportuity to the bright young people to work together with the top class research institutes and universities.

India is one of the Germany’s most important partners in Asia. Over the last decades, both countries have become strong partners in terms of education, science and research.

The German House for Research and Innovation in New Delhi (in German: Deutsches Wissenschafts- und Innovationshaus, DWIH) in association with the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST) and Gujarat Council of Science City, is organizing a week-long “DWIH New Delhi – Excellence on Tour” exhibition and scientific programmes and outreach activities at Gujarat Science City from 15th Nov 2013 to 22nd Nov 2013.

The “DWIH New Delhi – Excellence on Tour” has been designed in a multi-functional pavilion created by internationally renowned artist, Markus Heinsdorff. The design combines India’s rich textile legacy with state of the art technology inspired by precious gems and stones together with traditional Indian shapes and patterns. It will showcase the potential of the German education, research and innovation landscape and the given opportunities.

The exhibition will have parallel activity sessions that includes scientific workshops, lectures, symposiums, quizzes, Science Slam and cultural events that illustrating the productivity of Indo-German research collaboration to the audience.

The programme will touch upon areas of research which are cutting edge in the 21st century that includes topics like cancer biology, DNA isolation, challenges of climate change, renewable energy, astroparticle physics, high-tech concept in low-cost housing and so many.

The programme will be inaugurated by Shri Pradipsinh B. Jadeja, Hon’ble Minister of Law, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs, Devsthan, Pilgrimage Development, Co-ordination of Voluntary Organizations, Non-resident Gujaratis Division, Protocol, Government of Gujarat on 15th November 2013 at 1800 hrs in Gujarat Science City in the presence of the H.E. Mr. Michael Steiner, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to India and distinguished faculties and guests from India and Germany. The inaugural session will be followed by screening of “Future by Airbus“ movie.

The Excellence on Tour at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad will show an easy way to bridge 7000 kilometers distance between India and Germany and to have collaborative studies and research in the field of science, innovation and education.

A large number of school and college students along with their teachers and faculties will visit the exhibition and to take part in different activities during the above period.
