Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is often admired for his different approach to address the problems. A few days back we heard Modi suggesting insurance of hospital bed instead of the patients.
Today at the 12th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Delhi, when one diaspora participant raised question on corruption, Modi said: the debate in the country presently going on is “post corruption” measures like Janlokpal and Lokpal. However such measures to tackle corruption are useful only after corruption has taken place. The requirement is that there should not be any corruption, the focus should be on that.
Modi cited the Gujarat experience of putting state policy online in “black and white” as an effective measure to tackle corruption.
“Corruption can be easily tackled, it only needs resolve… the focus should not be on the sickness, but on health and prevention,” he said.
