Bomb threat: Police commissioner,collector,Home secretary at Ahmedabad airport, nothing found

Update: Nothing suspicious has been found during checking of the flight. The phone call was received at Mumbai Air India office from abroad in English language. There were around 305 passengers on departure side. Standard Operation Procedures were followed during 3.5 hours long bomb-check operation.

Air India’s Newark-Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight has been kept in isolation at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport for thorough check by CISF bomb squad following a bomb threat. Someome called and informed that Air India’s this fight has bomb. Police and fire brigade teams are at the airport. Home Secretary SK Nanda, district Collector Rupvant Singh, city police commissioner Shivanand Jha, Anti Terrorist Squad and Crime Branch officials have also reached airport. It is not known at this time whether this was a hoax call, or real threat. All passengers from said flight are deplaned, but they will be given their luggage only after thorough check by bomb squad team. They are made sit in waiting lounge till then. Police is also working in direction to catch the caller who informed about presence of bomb in plane.
