“Narendra Modi is at his best when attacked, and he’s attacked everyday”

Ahmedabad, 7 March 2014

Narendra Modi is at his best when he is attacked by someone. Narendrabhai’s best of the best substance comes out when he is attacked, and thanks to Goddess Jagat Janani, he is being attacked everyday, and that’s why he is best everyday. Noted Gujarati author Gunvant Shah narrated his this observation in presence of Modi while launching Modi’s book Sakshibhav.

Shah said Narendrabhai relies on this power.

Shah praised Narendrabhai for remembering Geeta Press in his speech at Gorakhpur.

“Narendrabhai was addressing a big rally in Gorakhpur, and nowadays his no rally is small. I study his rally to understand his spark. Modi recalled Geeta Press Gorakhpur while speaking at Gorakhpur. I have seen Geeta Press books at my home since my childhood days. Hanuman Prasad Poddar had established Geeta Press. Then president Rajendra prasad had offered Mr. Poddar Bharat Ratna but Poddar denied. Imagine, who would not deny Bharat Ratna? This nation’s future PM should be such who knows what is Geeta Press Gorakhpur. Modi visited Geeta Press during his visit to Gorakhpur. After I completed his speech, my phone rang and on the other end was Shri Morari Bapu. I told him I was listening to Shri Modi’s speech and he remembered Geeta Press in starting. Morari Bapu told me that Geeta Press has so far sold 25 crore copies of Ram Charit Manas! What a great work to connect 25 crore homes with Ram Charit Manas. Morari Bapu also told me that he has given one katha to Geeta Press, and just dates are to be finalized.”

“I always wished some one who remembers Geeta Press should lead this nation,” Shah added.

Shah diverted his speech to his favorite subject – farce of secularism. He said Samuel Huntington, author of clash of civilizations and who we are asked is secularism freedom from religion or freedom for religion? I favor second one.

Shah said, two words need to be replaced in India. Samajvad has to be replaced with Sarvodaya, and secularism has to be replaced with sarva dharma sambhav. These two words, sarvodaya and sarva dharma sambav have fragrance of this land.

Shah said, “in Delhi, there are roads named after Mughal emperors. There’s Aurgangzeb road where Sardar Patel was living, but prince Dara Shikoh’s name is not given to any road. Dara who translated our Upanishads in Persian and spread the knowledge beyond borders. I visited Kurukshetra and in university library I found Dara Shikoh’s Persian translation of our book Yoga vashista. Sadly, there’s no road in Delhi named after him, and what secularism we are talking about? I want to tell Narendrabhai that whenever he become PM, I expect he should name a road after Dara Shikoh in first three months.

Shah praised Shri Modi for civilization pull he has. He read a few lines from ‘Sakshibhav’ book which is a diary of Modi written when he was 36 (in 1986) and said how his words are relevant to his present mental state.

Shah said, in human history the word ‘Lok tantra’ was used for the first time in Shanti Parva of Mahabharata. It was Bhishma pitamah who told Yushidsthir that one who harms Loktantra should be jailed. This happened before 5,000 years, and we are clueless even today about how to deal with those damaging Loktantra. Similarly for the first time the word ‘Swarajya’ was used in Mahabharata’s Sabha parva by Dhrutarashtra. Even the word ‘Lok Pal’ is mentioned for several times in Aadi Parva. The word ‘Bhrun Hatya’ belongs to Valmiki Ramayana. Shah gave these examples in reference to ‘Civilization pull’ part of his speech.
