New Delhi, 6 April 2014

BJP spokesperson Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad today addressed urgent press conference to protest FIR against BJP Uttar Pradesh state incharge Shri Amit Shah by the Bijnor administration. Pasad slammed Uttar Pradesh state government for filling case against Amit Shah for political motives.

BJP said that the complaint was filed deliberately by the Uttar Pradesh government.

“There are no cases against Beni Prasad Verma and Azam Khan for the statements they make,” said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad also alleged that the Congress and the BSP were responsible for giving a spin to the matter.

The BJP leader further said, “President Obama had also said in his election campaign, Voting is the best revenge.”

FIR against Shah was lodged in Bijnor under Section 153(a) and Section 125 of the Representation of People Act over an alleged inflammatory speech.
