What Modi told party cadre on eve of first day of polling

Ahmedabad, 6 April 2014

Addressing the party workers nationwide via video conferencing, BJP prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi today said there may be a Lotus in someone’s mind, heart and mouth but till the finger doesn’t touch the Electronic Voting Machine, task is not complete.

Every citizen of India wants change. There is an optimistic atmosphere, we need to take this to the EVM, he said.

Modi addressing party’s polling booth workers said when victory is certain, that is when hard work is needed the most. Those who feel the others are sleeping can’t win their polling booth.

He said we have to think we can win every booth, not that we have won every booth. We can win, not we have won …run those extra miles.

He said some people say we need so many seats. These dreams are good, but the beginnings is made at the polling booth. It is the polling booth that is the biggest fort in a democracy. We have to win at the polling booth level.

Modi said BJP has one strategy and one strength which is the BJP karyakarta and no one cn compete with BJP on this.

Modi said if BJP starts fighting elections like other parties, it will not be worth enjoying. BJP can’t get so much money nor can it be in media like others.

“Some people say we need so many seats. These dreams are good, but the beginning is made in the polling booth. It is the polling booth that is the biggest fort in a democracy. We have to win at the polling booth level. In every polling booth, 700 votes are cast on an average. We should try to get over 400 votes out of that. If we can win the polling booth then we will always win,” he said.
