Under construction span of cable bridge approach collapses in Surat, 4 dead

A 40 meter span of under construction bridge collapsed today morning at around 7-7.30 in Surat near new court building.
The incident happened in Athwa lines area when labourers were removing supports of an under construction span of approach part of under construction Tapi river cable bridge.
At least 10 labourers were taken to hospital, 2 of them were dead.
Municipal Commissioner and other higher officials were on spot to supervise the rescue operations.
Updates:
Total number of those found dead is four now. The state government has constituted a probe committee of GR Aloria, state urban development secretary. Rs. 2 lakh relief will be given to kin of each of those who died. Rs. 1 lakh relief for those seriously injured, Rs. 50,000 relief to those who are minorly injured.
