“I’m giving you in writing, Gujarat Police will do nothing against Asaram and Narayan Sai,” said Vaidya Amrut Prajapati’s wife Sarojben while speaking to media persons in Rajkot.

She added, “I don’t know whether Gujarat Police has taken bribe or what, but I’m sure they will never proceed against Asaram. There has been 7-8 attacks in the past on my husband, but police has not done anything.”

Vaidya Amrut Prajapati was shot at by two persons in Rajkot on 23 May. Prajapati’s police guard was having lunch when Prajapati was shot at.

Prajapati was initially admitted to Rajkot based hospital and later taken to Ahmedabad due to critical medical condition. He died after he was released from hospital.

Rajkot police has not arrested a single person even after 19 days of attack on Prajapati.City Police Commissioner Jha told media persons that around 10-12 persons are wanted in a case filed against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai in Surat, and they are likely to be involved in Prajapati murder case.

Prajapati had earlier given names of Ajay Shah, KD Patel, Meghji Kaushik, Vikas Khemka and Ram as suspect.

Prajapati’s widow today told media persons that entire world knows it is Asaram who is responsible for this crime.

“Hang Asaram or hang me,” she said with tears in her eyes.

She said there’s a list of 140 persons who are witnesses or who have backed witnesses against Asaram. They could be either killed or harmed.

It should be mentioned that attack on Prajapati was not first attack on Asaram baiter. Several other witnesses and others who have spoken against Asaram in media have been attacked in past.
