The 68th Anual General Meeting(AGM) of Amul Dairy was held today at Anand headquarters. Each member mandli has right to send two members to AGM. There are 1200 mandlis. About 2500 to 3000 members were present in today’s AGM.

Ahead of the AGM, the board meeting took decision to increase per kg/fat payment by Rs. 25. Thus the total payment to milk producer per kg/fat will be Rs. 550.

According to Amul Chairman Ramsinh Parmar, AGM was peaceful. He said the members present in AGM asked Amul to take action against those mandlis that ransacked the Amul campus on 10 June seeking hike in bonus payment.

Parmar said, as per the by-laws, mandlis tied up with Amul have to follow some rules. If they defame Amul they are suitable to face actions. Parmar said the protest march against Amul on 10th of June was participated by anti-social elements, some of them were drunk. He said mandlis of only two villages including Virpur village had participated in the protest. He said there’s growing demand from members to take actions against those mandlis.

Parmar said Milk prices are reviewed every month, and due to shortage of fodder, delayed monsoon and rising prices of cattle feed, the board has taken a decision to give higher payment to milk producers.
