PM asks countrymen to be ready for tough govt decisions aimed at improvement in economy(video)

Ahmedabad, 14 June, 2014

Listen to the first six minutes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to BJP workers in Goa, and you will realize that the budget which is to be presented next month in parliament by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley could contain some tough actions, not likely to please the people. Following are Modi’s words from first six minutes of his address:

You know those who left the government(in centre after the elections). They have left nothing. Nation’s economic health is so poor.We will have to correct it. No mother wishes to feed bitter taste medicine to child, but mother knows that if she doesn’t give bitter pill, the child will continue to suffer for a long.

Please tell me – to make India’s economy better, to save country from this time of crisis, should we take bitter decisions? For nation’s health and not for political health, bitter decisions should be taken.

From the land of Goa, I want to a tell the people of this nation that if I have to work in a way that people praise Modi, there’s a path available. But there’s no guarantee whether it will be good for nation or not. But to give strength to nation’s economic health, to achieve the cause of financial discipline, kadve(bitter taste) decisions, tough decisions, whatever necessary will be done in upcoming one or two years.

I know due to such tough decisions,

People love Modi too much, and I know their love will decrease, but I have full faith that after tough decisions, when health will improve, the love will be regained.

Nation can’t be allowed to remain in same condition. If we don’t address this illness, it will grow. To rescue the nation from this(condition), tough decisions are to be taken for nation’s progress. I have faith that people of this nation will support me and bless me.

I want to assure my country men that whatever decision we will take, we will not take for us or for our party but only and only for nation.

It should be remembered that recently while launching Bibek Debroy’s book at 7RCR in Delhi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also spoke about possibility of some tough decisions. Jaitley said he doesn’t want to do something that may please people of country in first year of government and trigger crisis later on during fourth or fifth year of government.
