Swiss solar plane on world tour to land in Ahmedabad next year

Solar Impulse, the only airplane of perpetual endurance, able to fly day and night on solar power is likely to arrive in Ahmedabad during its proposed world tour next year.

Ambassador of Switzerland Dr. Linus Von Castelmur today called on Gujarat Chief Minister and told her about Solar plane’s plan to land on Ahmedabad airport during its world tour next year.

Swiss envoy expressed a hope to get a co-operation from Gujarat Government when the plane arrives and land at Ahmedabad next year, which was positively responded by Gujarat Chief Minister.

Mr. Castlemur briefed Gujarat Chief Minister about Switzerland’s pilot project to fly a plane using the solar energy under its Solar Implication Project.

Mr. Castlemur was in Gujarat to attend the inaugural function of a plant set up at Zaghadiya near Bharuch. The plant was a result of investment MoU signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2011.

He said, the global investors and industrialists have got attracted towards Gujarat because of good governance and industry friendly approach of the Gujarat government.

Chief Minister gave an invitation to Mr. Castlemur to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015 and expressed a hope that a high level delegation of Switzerland would also make a visit to the Summit.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Principal Secretasry Mr. Kailashnath, Secretary Mr. Vijay Nehra, Additional Chief Secretary (Industry) Mr. D J Pandian.

Canada High Commissioner meets CM

Canada High Commissioner in India H.E.Stewart was another international dignitory visiting Gujarat Chief Minister today. Canada is partner country for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015.

While Canada became as a partner country in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015, Gujarat Chief Minister briefly discussed with Mr. Stewart Back about the development of a two-way partnership with Gujarat in trade-commerce-industrial innovation, tourism, skill development sectors by taking part in this summit.

Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister- Mr. Kailasnathan, Secretary Mr. Vijay Nehra and Industries’ Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Pandian also were present in this meeting.
