Reflective tape compulsory from 1st July on vehicles

As per the central motor vehicle rule, it is compulsory to have reflective sticker/tape on vehicles. The Gujarat government has today in a statement announced that reflectors are to be made compulsory in the state from 1st of July 2014. Those found without reflector on vehicle will have to pay Rs. 1,000 fine and also may face termination of fitness certificate of vehicle.
According to a statement issued by state RTO, an awareness drive will be kicked off from 1st July across the state in this regard for prevention of accidents. The note further says that most of the accidents take place in dark hours of night or in early morning, and having reflective sticker on vehicles is one of the solutions in direction of prevention of such accidents.
