Surat: All the slaughterhouses in the city will remain closed on the occasions of Ram Navami and Mahaveer Jayanti. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has ordered the closure of slaughterhouses on the 17th of April for Ram Navami and the 21st of April for Mahaveer Jayanti. Surat: 230 kg of paneer that was seized around two weeks ago by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) failed the laboratory test. On March 21st, SMC seized 230 kg of paneer and sent its samples for laboratory testing. This paneer was seized from a tempo that had brought it from Valsad to the Pandesara area for sale in dairies and restaurants in Surat. Surat: In yet another seizure of unsafe and inedible food products, Rander Police today seized a large quantity of spurious ghee. A ghee factory in the Goga Chowk area of Rander was raided, revealing that spurious ghee was being sold under the logo of a branded ghee. SMC to replace all diesel buses with electric buses by December 2025

Surat: By December 2025, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will withdraw all its diesel run buses and replace them with all electric buses. SMC has retired 340 diesel buses from city bus and BRTS services in last four months. In the next three months, 200 more electric buses will be added to SMC fleet.
