Galki: A Real story of a fat lady

Introdution:
Here is a real story that unfolded in a small village near Bhavnagar in early face of last century. Galki was unusually fat girl. Everybody was worrying about her future. What happend thenafter ? What life brought to her ? Check this out, it’s a 9 minutes interesting innocent story.
Details:
One of the activities at DeshGujarat is to collect old, vanishing, out of print Gujarati books which are really worth and are so special that we Gujarati people can not afford to loose them.
For this cause DeshGujarat visits ‘Gujari bazaar’ in Ahmedabad frequently, and scan the old-discarded book selling area there, in search of such books. DeshGujarat is proud owner of some hundred books of this kind.
Some books are so wonderful that they deserve reprint but it is a costly affair and even after reprint, selling them may be another problem area. In such circumstances audio book can be the answer.
‘Haiye mandi Haatadi’ was the book written by late Shri Dr. Haribhai Godani in 1980. The book is no more available anywhere for last several years. DeshGujarat fetched it from ‘Gujari market’. This book has amazing documentation and real as well as folk stories which were written after hard field work by writer.
DeshGujarat.com is trying to republish this book’s some wonderful chapters in audio mp3 format. ‘Galki’ is one of the stories from this book. This story is simple and easy going with message too.

Thanks all Gujarati brothers. These stories might have vanished, because the book which contains them is facing extinction. Please buy more Gujarati books, spend your money at Gujarati language books, music, products made in Gujarat, made by Gujarati brothers, and infect made for Gujarati people. Who else will buy Gujarati language products other than Gujarati people ?

Another way to share these stories and “uttam sahitya” is to scan them and convert to pdf format. For people like us who love to read than listen, it will be great option. I hope you will consider it, as listening is not always possible.
thanks,
Siddharth
