1948,Gujarat:Night with a tiger

Introduction:
Tiger are vanished from Gujarat in recent years sadly. It’s a fact now that Gujarat lost all tigers it had and nowadays not having even a single tiger existing. Here in this episode audiobook version of writer Haribhai Godani written book’s chapter about his experience that he had in north Gujarat’s jungle with the tiger named ‘Balelo(burnt)’ in 1948 January is presented.
DeshGujarat has experimented sound inputs in this episode for the first time. At appropriate places sounds of jeep start, tiger, animals, morning, night etc. are inserted for making your listening experience more realistic.
Detail:
One of the activities at DeshGujarat is to collect old, vanishing, out of print Gujarati books which are really worth and are so special that we Gujarati people can not afford to loose them.
For this cause, DeshGujarat visits ‘Gujari bazaar’ in Ahmedabad, frequently and scan the old-discarded book selling area there, in search of such books. DeshGujarat is proud owner of some hundred books of this kind.
Some books are so wonderful that they deserve reprint, but it is a costly affair and even after reprint, selling them may be another problem area. In such circumstances audio book can be the answer.
‘Haiye mandi Haatadi’ was the book written by late Shri Dr. Haribhai Godani in 1980. The book is no more available anywhere for last several years and DeshGujarat fetched it from ‘Gujari market’. This book has amazing documentation and real as well as folk stories which were written after hard field work by writer.
DeshGujarat.com is trying to republish this book’s some wonderful chapters in audio mp3 format. Here is one of the chapters from this book ‘Balelo’. With a thought that it would be good to preserve whatever documentation available about tigers in Gujarat, DeshGujarat choose this chapter ‘Balelo(burnt)’ to convert in audio book.

Hi,
I really appreciate the efforts u are putting into this work u are doing. Not only am I enjoying the Modi speeches and the sanedo…I like the idea of story telling too. Since u pledge urself to keeping Gujarti Literature alive and bring it to us, I would like to give a humble suggestion. Why dont u read out or convy stories of Meghani..since they are folklores that many have grown up with and which the young genertion is deprived of. It will be a great service.
Also since maintaining a website is not free to maintain so why don’t u rope in some sponsors..may be u can play a small 10 sec sound clip of sponsor in begining of the clip apart from having banners in the home page of this site.
Unlsolicated suggestion these are, I know, but couldn’t stop myself.
Kepp up the great work.

Reffering to Kashyap Shah’s comment
Thanks Kashyapbhai for listening, appreciating, and participating through your comment in DeshGujarat. Meghani’s books are available across Gujarat, and always are reprinted when existing edition is sold out. For now DeshGujarat is giving priority to the books which are not able to get reprint and on the verge of extinction though having great content..Meghani’s book are not rare books in urgent need of documentation therefore it’s not in our priority for now, but at the same time ultimate goal of DeshGujarat is to generate ‘Gujarati patriotism’ among Gujarati fellow brothers, and for that if we can use Meghani’s stories here, we will use them. You can expect that in future here. We appreciate your concern, suggestions and wishes and has taken a note of it.

I know that adding video to your website will involve more storage and administration. As a baby step forward, would you consider placing links to video that you upload to sites like YOUTUBE.COM (for free!)
I am glad that deshgujarat.com is generating so much interest.
