Diu 1961:War from Gujarat, with Portugal(Part.2 Gujarati mp3)

It’s 19th of December and this day is celebrated in Diu as ‘Diu liberation day’. We at DeshGujarat.com, congratulate Diu on the occasion of it’s liberation anniversary and presenting this special series of two episodes.
India got it’s independence in 1947 from foreign rule but even after many years of Indian independence, three areas of India; Diu, Daman and Goa were continued to be under foreign rule of Portugal. Diu is an island lying under Saurashtra coast of Gujarat in Arabian sea. In 1961 Indian army, air force and navy jointly liberated Diu from the rule of Portuguese. Indian forces marched towards Diu and acomplished their operation from the area of Gujarat.
Shri Majbutsinhji Jadeja was District superintendent of Police on duty in Junagadh district which was a bordering area at the time of Diu war. He has narrated his range of experiences about Diu war in old police gazette. We at DeshGujarat are very happy that we are re-documenting this history here in audio format and popularizing it using mp3 and internet.
It should be noted that in this episode, Mr. Majbutsinhji Jadeja’s experience has been told in his words (not in his voice). Shri Jadeja was one of the most honest, dignify and brave police officer of his time. Nowadays he is living healthily in Satellite area of Ahmedabad.
In this episode part.2 of total two, Shri Jadeja has narrated his experiences that he encountered at the Diu war and after. I would like to draw your attention that this story can be heard only with closed eyes and peace, like other episodes one can not listen to this without concentration. Reading and listening are both different affair. I had to listen this story twise to fully grasp and enjoy it but if I had listen to it with steady concentration at first glance, I could listen to it just once and could understand grasp and enjoy it. Wonderful episode.
wow enjoyed listening this.
This is the most informative stuff about Diu war ever on internet. Great Job, and you are right, we must think Diu as a part of Gujarat. Gujarati-prohibition=Diu

MORE ABOUT PORTUGUESE IN INDIA AND THEIR RULE IN DIU
-Among all the Europeans who came to rule India, Portuguese were the first and they went back at the last. However in compare to British, they just kept their some centers in their hand and did not try to proliferate their area of rule.
-Britishers captured Diu Island in 16th century from the sultan of Gujarat. At this time they had looted Mangrol town of Gujarat. Portuguese by nature were very cruel people rulers.
-Portuguese were very well known for their artisans of making sea forts. In Portuguese language the word ‘ Agva’ is used for water. Thus forts near water were called Agvada. There is very famous fort Agvada in Goa too where Portuguese ruled.
-In India there was always a cold war between Britishers and Portuguese because Britishers were Protestant, while Portuguese were Catholic orthodox.

DIU, It really a wonderful and strategic place for trade in 16th century. I visited DIU several times. I influenced with Portugal culture. Shri Mansukh bhai of the Jayshankar Hotel told me the story of DIU at the time of Portugal regime. He told me that Portuguese were good ruler and public like them. Still public want Portugal type regime as there were no lock to the door and no unemployment in that colonial era. DIU has its mythological importance since Puran yuga. DIU is the land of load shiva. I like to read more and more about the DIU.
Good efforts made by making internet radio-script.
i like Diu very much
