જ્યારે દેશગુજરાત પર ૨૩મી ડિસેમ્બરના ચૂંટણી પરિણામોના ચાર દિવસ પહેલા(૧૯ ડિસેમ્બર) જ મોદી જીતશે અને જીતની ખુશી કઈ રીતે મનાવશો એની ખાસ તૈયાર કરેલા ફોટા(ધ બોસ) સાથેની ઓપન પોસ્ટ મૂકી ત્યારે કેટલાકે શંકા પ્રગટ કરી કે આ વખતે ચૂંટણી કસોકસ છે અને કોંગ્રેસ જીતે એવુ લાગે છે, એવામાં જો કોંગ્રેસ જીતશે તો આવી પોસ્ટ મૂકીને દેશગુજરાત હાસ્યાસ્પદ ઠરશે.
આવુ કહેનાર દરેકને મેં કહ્યું કે, ભઈ તમે કોને મત આપવાના છો? તો કહે મોદીને. તમારી પત્ની? તો કહે મોદીને. તમારા પુત્ર પુત્રી? તો કહે મોદીને. પછી મેં કહ્યું કે મોદીએ તમને કશું આપી દીધું છે એટલે તમે આખુ પરિવાર મોદીને મત આપવાના છો? તો કહે કે ના, મોદી ગમે છે એટલે. તો મેં કહ્યું કે તમે આવુ વિચારો છો તો શું બાકીના બધા ગુજરાતીઓને શીંગડા પૂંછડા છે? તેઓ પણ આમ જ વિચારે છે.
અને અમે દેશગુજરાત પર મોદી જીતશે તો સેલીબ્રેટ કઈ રીતે કરશો એની ઓપન પોસ્ટ મૂકી. એકાદ બે સિવાય કોઈ ગુજરાતીએ આ પોસ્ટના જવાબમાં મોદીની જીત અંગે શંકા પ્રગટ કરી ન હતી.
અમને(દેશગુજરાત.કોમ) મળેલા ઈમેલ અને ટેક્સ્ટ મેસેજમાં દુનિયાના પૂર્વ છેડેથી મયૂરભાઈ લખે છે કે ‘એવુ કહેવાય છે કે વર્લ્ડ વોરમાં માત્ર બીબીસી રેડિયોએ સાચી માહિતી આપવાનું કામ કર્યું હતુ. હવે હું એવુ કહુ છુ કે ૨૦૦૭ની ગુજરાત ચૂંટણીમાં એકમાત્ર દેશગુજરાત.કોમે સાચી માહિતી આપી હતી.’ તો દુનિયાના પશ્ચિમ છેડેથી પવનભાઈ નાણાવટી લખે છે કે ‘બધા મિડિયા વાંચીને અમે નર્વસ થઈ ગયા હતા પણ દેશગુજરાત.કોમ જ સાચી માહિતી લગાતાર આપતુ રહેતુ હતુ કે ગુજરાત ચૂંટણી ૨૦૦૭ કઈ તરફ જઈ રહી છે’
આવા અનેક વાંચકોના અભિપ્રાયોથી અમારો ઉત્સાહ અને સાચી માહિતી પહોંચાડવાની નિષ્ઠા વધે છે.
મોદીની ભારે જીતનું અનુમાન કરવા પાછળ અમારુ મુખ્ય પરિબળ ઈન્ટ્યુશનનું હતુ, જમીન પર કાન રાખવાનું હતુ, લોકોની વાત વધારે અને મિડિયાની પ્લાન્ટેડ વાત ઓછી સાંભળવાનુ હતુ. બેઝીક મત સ્વીકારવાનુ અને વિશ્લેષિત મત કાને નહી ધરવાનુ હતુ. જ્યારે કોઈ મોદી નહી આવે એવુ કહે ત્યારે એ એનુ અનુમાન છે ? કે અભિપ્રાય છે ? કે ઈચ્છા છે ? કે માહિતી છે ? એ બીજો જ સામો પ્રશ્ન કરીને અમે જાણી લેતા હતા.
કોંગ્રેસ આ પાછલા વર્ષોમાં એક પણ ચૂંટણી જીતી જ નથી. કોંગ્રેસ ગુજરાતની ૨૦૦૪ની લોકસભાની ચૂંટણીમાં જીત પર મુશ્તાક છે પરંતુ એમાં પણ કોંગ્રેસને ૧૨ સીટો ને ભાજપને ૧૪ મળી હતી એટલેકે બે બે સીટો વધારે અને બે સીટોમાં ઘણા ધારાસભ્યો આવી જાય.કોંગ્રેસનું ગુજરાતમાં શત પ્રતિશત આઈડિયોલોજીકલ ફોલોઈંગ વાળુ માળખુ જ નથી. એના કોઈ નેતાની ક્લીન શાખ નથી.અખબારોના નિવેદનના સહારે ચાલતા નેતાઓની વાતો લોકોને માથામાં વાગે છે. ગુજરાતીઓ મેક્રો મુદ્દાઓને અનુસરીને વોટ આપે છે. કેન્દ્ર સરકાર કશ્મીર વિશે ખોટુ પગલુ લે તો કચ્છનો મતદાર ચૂંટણીમાં એનો જવાબ આપે છે. આ વખતે ચૂંટણીનો મેક્રો મુદ્દો નરેન્દ્ર મોદી હતો.
હું પોતે ગુજરાતના પબ્લીક અફેર્સમાં વીસ વર્ષથી અને પત્રકારત્વમાં દસ વર્ષથી છું. ગુજરાતનો ખૂણેખૂણો ફરેલો છું. લોકોને જાણું છુ.ં અને એના આધારે મારુ સ્પષ્ટ માનવુ હતુ કે આ ચૂંટણીમાં ભાજપ નહી જ હારે. અને કોંગ્રેસ તો હારતા હારશે પણ કોંગ્રેસ પતી જ ગયેલી વૃદ્ધણ છે. હકીકતમાં તો મિડિયા હારશે.કોંગ્રેસનો એન્ટી- મોદીઝમનો ઓક્સીજન જ મિડિયા હતો.જેમ દર્દી ઓક્સિજનના બાટલા પાછળ ખર્ચ કરે એમ મોદી વિરોધીઓએ ઓક્સિજન તરીકે મિડિયાની જરૂર હતી અને તેના માટે પૈસા પણ ચૂકવ્યા.
મિડિયા આ ચૂંટણીમાં આકલનો કરવામાં, પબ્લીકના તો ઠીક પોતાની પત્ની, પાડોશી, મિત્રો અને સંતાનોના અભિપ્રાયોને સમજવામાં પણ થાપ ખાઈ ગયુ. દેશગુજરાતની કોલમમાં મેં લખ્યું હતું કે મોદીની તરફેણમાં તેના કલ્ટ ફિગરને કારણે વેવ છે.
હવે થોડુ મિડિયાને ઠમઠોરી લઉ? આમાં મારી અને આપની બંનેની લાગણીનો પ્રતિઘોષ છે.
હું અગાઉ લખી ગયો છું કે સુરતના નાના છાપાના એક પત્રકારને ભાજપ વિરોધી લખવા માટે ત્રણ લાખ રૂપિયા આપવામાં આવ્યા હતા એની મારી પાસે કન્ફર્મ વિગત આવી છે. સુરત તથા અમદાવાદ-ગાંધીનગરના મોટા કદના અખબારના રાજકીય પત્રકારોને ભાજપ વિરોધી લખવા માટે આનાથી ઓછામા ઓછી ત્રણ ગણી રકમ આપવામાં આવી હોવાની પૂરી સંભાવના છે.
વેચાઈ ગયેલા આ પત્રકારોએ આખી ચૂંટણી દરમિયાન અને તે પહેલા પણ લાંબા સમયથી કેશુભાઈને, સુરેશ મહેતાને, ગોરધન ઝડફિયાને, કાશીરામ રાણાને ફોનો કરી કરીને ડાયમંડ લોબીના પૈસા લીધા હોવાથી વ્હાલા થઈ થઈને મોટી મોટી સ્ટોરીઓ લખી. આ સ્ટોરીઓ એવી હોય કે તમને વાંચીને એમ જ લાગે કે બાપુ, સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં તો ભાજપનો સોથ વળી જશે!! કોળીઓ તો ભાજપનો સફાયો કરી નાખશે! લેઉવા પાટીદારો તો કેશુભાઈ કહેશે એમ જ કરશે અને ભાજપને ભયંકર ફટકો પડશે! ભાજપનું વર્ચસ્વ તો શહેરોમાં જ છે!! ગ્રામીણ મતદારો તો ભાજપને ઠેંગો બતાવશે! ઉમા ભારતીતો ભાજપના વોટ તોડીને હરાવી જ દેશે!! સાધુ સંતો પણ આ વખતે ભાજપની સાથે નથી, હવે શું થશે ? આરએસએસ અને વિશ્વ હિંદુ પરિષદ ભાજપની વિરૂદ્ધમાં છે, નક્કી મોદીને નુકસાન થશે!!
ભલભલા વાંચકો આવા લખાણોના મારાના ચક્કરમાં આવી જાય. ભ્રમિત થઈ જાય. આના કારણે પછી બીજા પત્રકારો પણ આ લાઈન ફોલો કરે. તટસ્થ સમીક્ષકો પણ ભ્રમણાની અસરમાં આવી જાય અને જૂઠની સાઈકલ ચાલે. જે નેતાઓ ભંગારખાનામાં જવાને લાયક છે એવા દુ:શાષનો-દુર્યોધનોને એજન્ડાઈઝ મિડિયાએ ભીષ્મ બનાવી દીધા ને અર્જુન બનાવી દીધા ને ભીમ બનાવી દીધા.
મિડિયાના જુઠ્ઠાણાઓ અને એજન્ડાઈઝ અપપ્રચાર
અશોક ભટ્ટ સામે ખાડિયામાં આ વખતે એન્ટી ઈન્કમ્બન્સી હોવાથી ભાજપ હારશે
અમદાવાદમાં અશોક ભટ્ટને ટિકીટ જ ન મળે એ વાત બિલકુલ માન્યામાં જ ન આવે. અશોક ભટ્ટ આટલા સિનીયર ભાજપી ધારાસભ્ય, અનેક વખત મંત્રી બન્યા ને એમને ભાજપ ટિકીટ જ ન આપે? એવુ બને? બિલકુલ ન બને. પણ મિડિયાએ એજન્ડા ચલાવ્યો કે અશોક ભટ્ટને ટિકીટ જ નહી મળે. પછી અશોક ભટ્ટને ટિકીટ મળી એટલે ચલાવ્યુ કે આ વખતે ખાડિયામાં એન્ટી ઈન્કમ્બન્સી છે, નક્કી અશોક ભટ્ટ હારશે. હવે પરિણામ એવું આવ્યુ છે કે અશોક ભટ્ટ ગઈ ચૂંટણી કરતા વધુ માર્જીનથી ખાડિયામાં જીતી ગયા છે.
મણિનગરમાં મોદી પ્રચારમાં ધ્યાન નહી આપે તો પટેલ મતોથી ભાજપ હારશે
મોદી મણિનગરના બદલે વડોદરાની રાવપુરા બેઠક પરથી લડશે, મણિનગર કરતા રાવપુરા તેમને વધારે સલામત લાગે છે, મોદી સામે કોંગ્રેસમાંથી રાજ બબ્બર લડશે, મોદી સામે કોંગ્રેસે મણિનગરમાં દિનશાને ઉભા રાખીને જોરદાર ચાલ ચાલી છે, મણિનગરના પટેલ મતદારો આટલા છે ને ફલાણા મતદારો આટલા છે ને ઢીકણા આટલા છે જે દિનશાને મત આપશે ને મોદીને તકલીફ પડશે, મોદી ગુજરાતભરમાં પ્રચાર નહીં કરી શકે ને મણિનગરમાં જ ભરાઈ રહેવું પડશે….આવા ગપગોળા ચાલ્યા હતા આખી ચૂંટણીમાં અને છેવટે શું થયું ? મોદી મણિનગરથી જ લડ્યા, પ્રચાર કરવા અહીં માત્ર ત્રણ સભાઓ પૂરતા આવ્યા, અને ગઈ વખત કરતા વધુ માર્જીનથી જીત્યા.
કોળીઓમાં ચાંદની પ્રકરણને કારણે નારાજગીથી પુરૂષોત્તમ સોલંકી હારશે
પુરૂષોત્તમ સોલંકી મતવિસ્તાર બદલશે. આ વખતે હારે એમ છે … એવા જુઠ્ઠાણા મિડિયાએ ચલાવ્યા પણ સોલંકી તેમના પ્રતિદ્વંદી કોંગ્રેસી ઉમેદવારથી બમણાથી પણ વધુ મતો મેળવીને ૩૪૦૦૦ ઉપરાંતની લીડથી અને કુલ મતદાનના ૬૧ ટકાથી વધુ મત મેળવીને જીત્યા. અરે મિડિયા જેમની પાસે કોળીઓના પ્રકરણે વારે વારે દોડી જતુ હતુ એ સુરેન્દ્રનગરના ભાજપી સસ્પેન્ડેડ સાંસદ સોમા ગાંડા પટેલ કોળીઓના મતો ખિસ્સામાં હોય એમ વાત કરતા ફરતા હતા પણ એમનો જ દીકરો વીરમગામના કોળી પ્રભુત્વવાળા મતવિસ્તારમાં ચૂંટણી હારી ગયો છે.
કેશુભાઈની નારાજગીની પાટીદારોમાં અસરથી સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભાજપ હારશે
પાટીદાર(પટેલ) મતદારોમાં કેશુબાપાની જબરજસ્ત અસર છે એવો હાઉ મિડિયાએ અને ડાયમંડ લોબીના કટ્ટરવાદી મોદી વિરોધી પટેલોના પૈસાએ ઉભો કર્યો પણ પટેલ મતો ધરાવતી ૩૫માંથી ૨૪ બેઠકોમાં ભાજપ જીત્યું. જે પાટીદાર મતદારોના પ્રભુત્વવાળી બેઠકો ભાજપ હાર્યું છે તેનાય હારજીતના માર્જીન તો જુવો જરા? જામજોધપુરમાં સત્તર મતે જીત અને માણાવદરમાં બે હજાર કરતા ઓછા મતનું માર્જીન. કેશુભાઈનું કદ માત્ર મિડિયાએ ઉભુ કરેલુ હતુ. કેશુભાઈનું અને પાટીદારવાદનું ગુજરાતની એકવીસમી સદીના સાતમા વર્ષના રાજકારણમાં કોઈ રેલેવન્સ નથી, તેમનું રેલેવન્સ માત્ર મિડિયાએ અખબારના કાગળ પર અને ટીવી સ્ક્રીન પર ઉભુ કરેલુ હતુ. ખુદ કેશુભાઈના બાપુજીની હોય એવી સીટ જેને મિડિયા માનતુ હતુ એવી લેઉવા પાટીદારોના મતના પ્રભુત્વવાળી વિસાવદરની સીટ પણ ભાજપ જીત્યુ છે. આ સીટ પર કેશુભાઈઓ પુત્ર ભરત લડશે ને નહી લડે એવા જુઠાણાઓ ફેલાવ ફેલાવ કરનાર મિડિયાને તમાચો ત્યારે જ લાગી ગયો હતો કે જ્યારે ભરત પટેલે જ લડવાની ના પાડી દીધી. જો કે હમણા સન્ડે ઈન્ડિયન મેગેઝીન સાથેની મુલાકાતમાં કેશુભાઈએ કહ્યું છે કે એમના દીકરાને ટિકીટ જ મળી ન હતી. કેશુભાઈ ગ્રુપે કોંગ્રેસને વિસાવદરમાં જે ઉમેદવાર સજેસ્ટ કર્યો હતો એ ઉમેદવાર કોંગ્રેસે ત્યાં ઉભો પણ રાખ્યો અને એ ય ત્યાં હાર્યો છે.
એટલુજ નહી પણ સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભાજપ લેઉવા પાટીદાર મતો અને કેશુભાઈની નારાજગી તથા અસંતુષ્ટોના કોંગ્રેસે આપેલા હેલિલોપ્ટર દ્વારા પ્રચારથી ભયંકર નુકસાન ઉઠાવશે એવુ કહેનાર મિડિયા હવે જોઈ રહ્યું છે કે સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ભાજપે ૨૦૦૨ની ૩૯ની સરખામણીમાં ૨૦૦૭માં ૪૪ સીટો મેળવી છે.
અસંતુષ્ટોથી અમરેલીમાં ભાજપ હારશે
અસંતુષ્ટોના ગઢ અમરેલીમાં ભાજપને ફટકો પડશે એવી હવા ફેલાવનાર મિડિયાને પણ ચાણક્ય ગુજરાતીઓએ તમાચો માર્યો છે. ધારીમાં બાલુ તંતી, લાઠીમાં બેચર ભાદાણી હાર્યા છે. વસંત ગજેરા નામના કટ્ટરવાદી પાટીદારના ઘર આંગણે અમરેલીમાં તેમનો ભત્રીજો પરેશ ધાનાણી કોંગ્રેસમાંથી હાર્યો છે અને સામે તેમના કાળ જેવો દિલીપ સાંઘાણી જીત્યો છે જે મંત્રી પણ બનશે ને લાલ લાઈટ લઈને ગજેરાના ઘર સામેથી નીકળશે. પાંચ વર્ષ સુધી. આ વસંત ગજેરાને કોંગ્રેસે હેલિકકોપ્ટર આપ્યુ હતુ પટેલોના મતો અંકે કરવા. પણ એનો ભત્રીજો ય હાર્યો છે અને એમનો ભાઈ ધીરુ ગજેરા પણ સુરતમાં હાર્યો છે ખૂબ સારા માર્જીનથી. મિડિયાએ ધીરુ ગજેરા અને વસંત ગજેરાને વાઘ જેવા ચીતર્યા હતા પ્રજાએ જાદુ કરીને બિલાડી જેવા કરીને છોડ્યા છે.
સુરેશ મહેતાની નારાજગીથી કચ્છમાં ભાજપ હારશે
કચ્છમાં મિડિયાએ સુરેશ મહેતાને બહુ મોટા કરી નાખ્યા હતા. આ સુરેશ મહેતા આ નહીં આ નહીં આ નહીં આ નહીં એટલે તમે એ ન્યાયે ગુજરાતના મુખ્યમંત્રી બની ગયા હતા પછી એનાથી નીચો હોદ્દો સ્વીકાર્યો અને પછી ચૂંટણી હાર્યા ને ખોવાઈ ગયા. પણ જેવા સુરેશ મહેતા મોદી વિરૂદ્ધ બોલવા માંડ્યા એવા તેમને મિડિયાએ ઉંચકી લીધા અને છાપાઓમાં કોલમ સેન્ટીમીટરો આપી આપીને અને ટીવી પર બતાવી બતાવીને એમને એવા તો મોટા કદના બનાવી દીધા કે જાણે તેમનો ગુજરાતના રાજકરણમાં દબદબો હોય. અરે દબદબો તો છોડો સુરેશ મહેતા કોઈ ફેક્ટર જ ન હતુ પણ મિડિયાએ એમને ઉંચકી લીધા. હવે જુઓ સુરેશ મહેતાના કચ્છમાં એમના ખાસમખાસ ગોપાલ ધુઆ મુંદ્રામાં હાર્યા, નરેન્દ્રસિંહ જાડેજા અબડાસામાં હાર્યા અને ઉપરાંત કચ્છની બીજી ત્રણ બેઠકો ભાજપને મળી.
અસંતુષ્ટ સુનીલ ઓઝા ને ધનરાજ કેલ્લાની ઉમેદવારીથી ભાજપ હારશે
ભાવનગર દક્ષિણની બેઠક પર ભાજપના અસંતુષ્ટ સુનીલ ઓઝાને મિડિયાએ મોટા કર્યા પણ સુનિલો ઓઝાને બે હજાર મત મળ્યા. વઢવાણમાં ભાજપના અસંતુષ્ટ ધનરાજ કેલ્લાને મિડિયાએ મોટા કર્યા પણ ત્યાં ભાજપ જીત્યું છે. ધનરાજ કેલ્લા ત્રીજા ક્રમે રહ્યા છે.
કોળી ઉમેદવારથી સૌરભ પટેલ હારશે:માયાવતીની બીએસપીથી ભાજપ હારશે
બોટાદમાં સૌરભ પટેલ હારશે કારણકે તેમની સામે ઉભેલા અત્યંત પૈસાપાત્ર અને વગદાર કોળી ઉમેદવાર પીઠાવાલા છે એવુ લખ લખ મિડિયા હવે સૌરભ પટેલની જીત જોઈ રહ્યું છે. ગુજરાતમાં માયાવતી આવી માયાવતી આવી એમ કહેનાર અને વડોદરાના અસંતુષ્ટ નલિન ભટ્ટની દરેક હરકતને ચમકાવનાર મિડિયા હવે જોઈ રહ્યું છે કે નલિન ભટ્ટને સયાજીગંજ બેઠક પર પૂરા પાંચ હજાર મત પણ નથી મળ્યા.
કાશીરામ રાણાના જોરથી ભાજપ હારશે
કાશીરામ રાણાને સુરતના પાવરફુલ નેતા તરીકે પ્રોજેક્ટ કરનાર મિડિયા હવે જોઈ રહ્યું છે કે રાણાના સુરતમાં તમામ બેઠકો ભાજપ જીત્યું છે. રાણાની લાડલી અને માનીતી સુરત પૂર્વની બેઠક પણ પાતળા માર્જીનથી ભાજપે જીતી લીધી છે. મિડિયા જેમને દક્ષિણ ગુજરાતન કદાવર નેતા કદાવર નેતા કહીને ઘરે દોડી જતુ હતુ એ કાશીરામ રાણાના દક્ષિણ ગુજરાતમાં ભાજપની સ્થિતિ વધુ મજબૂત થઈ છે અને ભાજપે આશ્ચર્યજનક રીતે આઝાદ પછી કોંગ્રેસ જ્યાં સદાકાળ જીતતી આવી છે તે ડાંગની સીટ પણ જીતી લીધી છે.
રાહુલ ગાંધીનો કરિશ્મા કામ કરશે:ભાજપ હારશે
મિડિયા કે જેણે રાહુલ ગાંધી સુરત અને વડોદરાના રોડ શોમાં આવ્યો ત્યારે આ વિસ્તારોમાં કોંગ્રેસ છવાઈ જશે એવા ઘેલપણાના ગીતો ગાયા હતા એ હવે મરશિયા ગાય કોંગ્રેસના કારણકે રાહુલ ગાંધીના વડોદરા અને સુરતના રોડ શો ફ્લોપ શો સાબિત થયા છે.કારણકે વડોદરા શહેરની ચાર બેઠક પરથી એકેયમાં કોંગ્રેસ જીતી નથી. એ જ રીતે સુરત શહેર કોંગ્રેસની એકેય બેઠક પર કોંગ્રેસ જીતી નથી.

મિડિયાએ વિશ્વ હિંદુ પરિષદ નારાજ છે, આરએસએસ નારાજ છે, નિષ્ક્રિય છે એવા ગોબેલ્સ પણ ચલાવ્યા પણ હું જ્યાં રહુ છું ત્યાંથી પથરો મારવાના અંતરે આરએસએસની જે શાખા ભરાય છે ત્યાંના એક સ્વયંસેવક રાકેશ શાહની મારા એલિસબ્રીજ વિધાનસભા મતવિસ્તારના ઉમેદવાર તરીકે પસંદગી થઈ અને ત્યાં જ શાખામાં આવતા બીજા સ્વયંસેવકની ભાજપ મિડિયા સેલમાં પસંદગી થઈ. એક એક ઉમેદવારનું મૂળ કાઢો તો આરએસએસ કે વીએચપીનું નીકળે , અશોક સિંઘલનું બે બે વખત નામજોગ જાહેરાતમાં મોદીને સમર્થનનું નિવેદન આવે, ધર્મેન્દ્ર મહારાજની સભાઓ થતી હોય એવામાં માની જ ન શકાય એવુ જૂઠાણુ હતુ કે વીએચપીનું બળ ભાજપને હરાવવા લાગ્યું છે. ચૂંટણીના પરિણામોએ આ જુઠાણુ સાબિત કરી દીધુ છે.(
શું ચૂંટણી દરમિયાન વીએચપીના નામે મોદી વિરોધી પ્રવૃત્તિ કરનાર પ્રવીણ તોગડિયાને જરા પણ ભાન હતું કે કોંગ્રેસ સત્તા પર આવી હોત તો ખ્રિસ્તિ મિશનરીઓની પ્રવૃત્તિ કેવી વધી હોત? શક્ય હતુ કે કોંગ્રેસ શંકાસ્પદ રીતે પોતાની સેફેસ્ટ વીનીંગ આદિવાસી સીટ વ્યારા પર જે રીતે શંકાસ્પદ રીતે પાછલી બે ટર્મથી અચાનક જ ખ્રિસ્તીને ટિકીટ આપે છે એ જોતા એ ભાઈ ગુજરાતના શિક્ષણ કે આરોગ્ય કે આદિવાસી વિકાસ મંત્રી પણ બન્યા હોત. તોગડિયાએ સાધુઓએ વિચાર્યુ હતુ કે શી પરિસ્થિતિ થઈ હોત? તોગડિયાને આ ચૂંટણીમાં તેમના ટેલિફોનીક રોલ માટે (ટેલિફોન પર અસંતુષ્ટોને દોરવણી આપતા હતા). ગુજરાત માફ નહી કરે.)
ઉમા ભારતીના ઉમેદવારોથી ભાજપ હારશે
પેલા ચૈતન્ય શંભુ મહારાજ કે જે શંકરસિંહની રાજપામાંથી ઉભા રહીને ગાંધીનગરની લોકસભાની ચૂંટણી હાર્યા હતા એ ઉમા ભારતી જેવી વજૂદ ગુમાવી બેઠેલી વ્યક્તિના પક્ષના ગુજરાત પ્રમુખ બન્યા છે. આ પક્ષે એમના ઉમેદવારો ઉભા રાખ્યા હતા. ચૈતન્ય શંભુ મહારાજ એમ કહેતા હતા કે ચૂંટણી પછી તેમનો પક્ષ વિધાનસભામાં ભાજપને એ શરતે ટેકો આપશે કે મોદી મુખ્યમંત્રી ન હોવા જોઈએ. મિડિયાએ આ નિવેદનને બહુ વજૂદ આપ્યુ.હવે આ ચૈતન્ય શંભુ મહારાજનો એક પણ ઉમેદવાર જીત્યો નથી. મોટાભાગનાઓએ(કદાચ બધાએ) ડિપોઝીટ ગુમાવી છે. આ મહારાજ અને એમના નિવેદનો એમની પત્રકાર પરિષદોને ત્રણ ત્રણ કોલમોનું મહત્વ આપનાર ગુજરાતના મહાન રાજકીય પત્રકારોનું હવે પરિણામો પછી ભેગા થઈને ભજનમંડળી ચલાવે.
સાધુઓ નારાજ છે, ભાજપ હારશે
અને પેલા સૌરાષ્ટ્રના ગઢડાના એસપી સ્વામી નામના જૂના સ્વામિનારાયણ મંદિરના સંત કે જેમનો મિડિયા કેમેરા લઈને ઈન્ટર્વ્યુ લેવા દોડી જતુ હતુ એમના ગઢડામાં જ ભાજપ જીતી ગયું છે. ભાજપે અહીં કોંગ્રેસ પાસેથી સીટીંગ સીટ આંચકી લીધી છે. આ એસપી સ્વામી મોદીની ભાવનગરની જાહેરસભામાં જઈને તોફાન મચાવવાના હતા એ પહેલા પોલીસે ધરપકડ કરી હતી અને આ એસપી સ્વામીએ સોમનાથથી વાપી સુધીની સાધુઓની બસો ગાડીઓની યાત્રા કાઢી હતી કે જેના રૂટ પર દરેક વિધાનસભા ક્ષેત્રના કોંગ્રેસના ઉમેદવારને આશિર્વાદ આપવામાં આવતો હતો અને ભાજપને હરાવવાનું લોકોને આહવાન કરવામાં આવતુ હતુ. પણ જરા પરિણામ તો જુઓ? સોમનાથમાં ય ભાજપ જીત્યું, વાપીમાં ય ભાજપ જીત્યું અને એસપી સ્વામીએ ખરેખરતો ઘરની ચિંતા કરવા જેવી હતી કારણકે ગઢડામાં ય ભાજપ જીત્યું. આ સાધુ યાત્રામાં વડતાલ સ્વામિનારાયણના મુખ્ય સ્વામી પણ જોડાયા હતા અને જરા જુઓ મહેમદાવાદની સીટ પર પણ ભાજપ જીત્યું છે. આ બધાથી મોદીને ભય છે ને ભાજપ હારશે એવુ રીપીટેડલી રીપીટેડલી જુઠ જુઠ જુઠ કહેનારા રાજકિય પત્રકારોને પ્રજાએ તમાચો માર્યો છે.
પરિણામોની સવારે પણ મિડિયા જાત બતાવતુ હતુ અને પરિણામો પછી પણ બતાવે છે …
એનડીટીવી, આઈબીએન સેવન, આજતક તો ચૂંટણી પરિણામોની સવારે કોંગ્રેસ હાઉસ પહોંચી ગયા હતા અને શરૂઆતમાં જ્યારે ભાજપને મધ્ય ગુજરાતમાં માર પડવાનો શરૂ થયો ત્યારે ભરતસિંહ સોલંકીને લાઈવ ટેલિકાસ્ટમાં પૂછવા લાગ્યા હતા કે શું આપ મુખ્યમંત્રી બનવાની રેસમાં છો?ભરતસિંહ પણ મલકાતા હતા કે ના હું તો માત્ર પક્ષનો સોલ્જર છું. આ પછી આઈબીએન સેવનના પત્રકારે કયું કે તાજા સમાચાર એ છે કે મોદીની જુઠ્ઠા વિકાસની વાતો જુઠ્ઠી પુરવાર થઈ છે અને સાંપ્રદાયિકતાનું ઝેર ઘોલવાની ચાલ પણ નિષ્ફળ ગઈ છે. મોદી કદાચ ફરીથી સત્તા પર નહીં આવે. આ પછી આઈબીએન સેવને ભાજપ કાર્યાલય બહાર હરિન પાઠકને પૂછ્યું કે શું આપ મધ્ય ગુજરાતમાં પડેલા પ્રારંભિક ફટકાથી જ હવે હાર સ્વીકારવા તૈયાર છો? જવાબમાં હરિન પાઠકે કહ્યું કે અરે ભઈ હું હમણા બીજી ચેનલ પર ભાજપ ૯૦ સીટો પર આગળ છે ને કોંગ્રેસ ૫૫ પર એવું જોઈને આવ્યો છું. કલ્લાક રાહ જુવો અમે જ જીતીશું. એટલે આઈબીએન સેવને કહ્યું કે ના ના અમારી પાસે રૂઝાન છે એ પ્રમાણે તમે હારી રહ્યા છો….પછી વાત સ્ટુડિયોમાં આવી જ્યાં આ ચેનલના એન્કરે કહ્યું કે ભાજપ હાર સ્વીકારવા તૈયાર નથી. પેલા રાજનીતીક દાઢીધારી વિશ્લેષક યોગેન્દ્રએ કહ્યું કે હું અત્યારે મોદીની બાજુમાં બેસીને પરિણામો જોઈ રહ્યો હોત તો ચોક્કસ ટેન્શનમાં હોત, બાજી સરકી રહી છે….
મજાની વાત એ છે કે હરિન પાઠક અને બીજા ગુજરાતીઓ ઈ ટીવી જોતા હતા જેમાં સ્પષ્ટ રીતે ભાજપ આગળ દેખાતુ હતુ જ્યારે આઈબીએન સેવન અને આજતક ભરતસિંહ સોલંકીને મુખ્યમંત્રી બનવાના ખ્વાબ દેખાડતા હતા અને લોકોને મીસઈન્ફર્મેશન આપતા હતા. બદમાશો પરિણામના દિવસે પણ જૂઠ બતાવતા હતા અને પરિણામ પછી પણ ગોધરા ગોધરા , મોત કા સોદાગર, પાર્ટી મોટી કે મોદી, ચૂંટણીમાં ફલાણો મુદ્દો હતો ને ઢીકણો મુદ્દો ઉઠાવ્યોની ચર્ચાઓ કર્યા કરે છે.
બદમાશ મિડિયા પણ ચતુર પ્રજા
મિડિયાએ સમજવુ જોઈતુ હતુ કે એને જે ક્લાસ માટે એડવર્ટાઈઝ મળે છે(કે જેનાથી મિડિયા ચાલે છે અને રાજદીપ સરદેસાઈ, વિનોદ દુવા વગેરેને પગાર મળે છે), મિડિયાનો જે કસ્ટમર ક્લાસ છે એ બધો મીડલ ક્લાસ, રીચ ક્લાસ, યંગ ક્લાસ, શહેરી અને સેમી અર્બન ક્લાસ છે જે મોદીને ચાહે છે. તેથી મિડિયાએ મોદી તરફી બનવા જેવુ હતુ પણ મિડિયા ઉંધુ જ ફાટ્યુ અને આજે કોંગ્રેસ ગણતરીના આદિવાસી, ગ્રામ્ય અને મુસ્લિમ વિસ્તારોમાં જીતી છે ત્યારે મિડિયાનું રેલેવન્સ હવે આ લોકોમાં રહ્યું છે.
મિડિયાના મોદી હારશે એવા ભય પ્રચારથી ઉલટો મોદીને લાભ એ રીતે થયો કે વધુ ને વધુ લોકો મોદી કદાચ હારશે ભઈ ચલો વોટ આપવા જઈએ અને જીતાડીએ એમ વિચારીને મત આપવા નીકળ્યા અને લાઈનો લગાવીને મતો આપ્યા. જે વિસ્તાર પાટીદાર પ્રભુત્વવાળો હોય ત્યાં લોકો મતો આપવા નીકળ્યા કે કદાચ પાટીદારો મોદી સામે મતદાન કરે તો ? ચાલો આપણે મોદીને બચાવવા મતદાન કરવા નીકળીએ ને બધુ સરભર કરીએ. મિડિયાના અને મોદી વિરોધીઓના અપપ્રચારની આ અસર થઈ.
હું થોડા વખત પહેલા લખી ગયો હતો કે પત્રકારો સારા પત્રકાર બનશે એવી આશા છોડી દો. વાંચકો તમે જ સારા વાંચક બનો. ચતુર વાંચક બનો. અને ૨૩ ડિસેમ્બરે આવેલા ચૂંટણી પરિણામો કહે છે કે તમે ગુજરાતીઓ સારા વાંચક ૨૦૦૨માં ય હતા, ૨૦૦૭માં ય છો અને હરહંમેશ રહેશો. જય ગુજરાત.

You have analysed all mis-informations telecasted by so-called intellectual media. I am following this election from last 2+ months and am reading almost all english & gujarati newspapers. Narendra Modi and more than that People of Gujarat has shown that who is correct and have slept media/congress/keshubhai ni company/all Gujarat-Virodhis
Gujarat, as a state, needs publicity of it achievements in media. I believe we should boycott english media until they do not start giving unbiased and correct news.

Wonderful Analysis! I’ve been watching the news coverage of Election by IBNLIVE and NDTV from the beginning. I’ve always praised the wonderful work by the Modi Govt. in Gujarat. To be honest, when i was watching the coverage by these two channels ( I watched them because only these channels had videos) , i was worried whether or not Mr. Modi return in power because their coverage was highly BIASED. The election results were a BITCH-SLAP on the face of these channels. I’ve also observed that THESE CHANNELS WON”T POST THE COMMENT SOMETIMES IF YOU SAY SOMETHING BAD ABOUT THEIR COVERAGE. I’ve always talked crap about their coverage and tried to comment on their videos and news, but my comments never went through. That tells the story.

Its freaking ridiculous. I have tried to post my views on how CNNIBN / NDTV is biased in very polite manner on their web and also tried to reply Modi bashing blogs by tring to write up VERY DECENT comments/arguments and YET they got blocked. I am getting PISSED at these channels. They are bunch of jokers - who know nothing about the unbiased reporting. They have either sold their soul to anti-gujarat/anti-India sources or are simply trying to keep the issue burning at the cost of peace in Gujarat, so that they can make their livelihood out of it.
I have to put my words out somewhere and here I hope I will not get blocked.

Why (Gujarat) BJP doesn’t like English Media:

I think English Channels like yours have raised this question or comment about Gujarat BJP, a number of times. I have yet to see an answer for that one, coming from you, via introspection, as being suggested by most of the BJP leaders now. I have noticed that even on this blog of yours, there are very few Gujaraties who posted their comments. There is a flood of pro-Modi blogging going on, on all pro-Modi websites BY Gujaraties. Also as mentioned by your team, in poll surveys, HIGH number of Gujaraties refrained from speaking their mind to media.
I am a Gujarati, born and raised in Gujarat and for past 8 years living in Chicago. I think that the opinion in question, is not only of BJP’s but represents the voice of a common Gujarati. I am trying to put some thoughts – which may help you to understand why Gujarat BJP and Gujaraties in general feel this way. It is very important to have a healthy media in any democratic country and that is only possible if/when a common man feels that media is totally being unbiased.
I think the root cause, lies in the very fact that MOST of the journalist for English media, be it print or TV, are simply NOT from Gujarat. They have either grown up or made most part of their carriers in cities outside of Gujarat. So, you fail to understand the under current and gujarati psyche in general. You have only seen and highlighted POST Godhara. You have not seen or mentioned “what triggered it” and have not witnessed all previous riots which took place in Gujarat ever since independence, where Hindus have suffered significantly. You have not been to cities where curfew had been part of routine life. You have not been to cities where, when India loses a cricket match against Pakistan, you hear sound of fire crackers. You have not been to the areas of cities, where a Hindu will think twice to enter – even during a broad day light. All these points are just a tip of the iceberg. And so when post Godhara happened, as much as I want to condemn it and I am, people in Gujarat felt a sense of Poetic Justice. Trust me; those who were engaged in riots were NOT local Gujaraties. Gujaraties are under HEAVY influence of Jainism and Gandhivaad. That puts “Ahinsa” as the founding stone in building a strong character. So, a Gujarati, who has not killed even a Chicken – can not go about killing fellow humans. You can ONLY believe this statement of mine, if you have lived in Gujarat.
This still doesn’t justify what happened in post Godhara. I agree on that as a civilized citizen. But, what happened was – media just went crazy over this ONE issue and started portraying Gujarat as a place where atrocities on minority is a law of state. This is where Gujaraties are disputing with Media. Gujarat is anything but that! You started blaming democratically elected Chef Minister, went on to call him whatever you felt like calling him , failing to realize he has a complete mandate of Gujaraties. So, singling him out on this issue is singling Gujaraties out. Have you ever tried to get a sense of : why the most peace loving , most prosperous , most harmless , most entrepreneurial people of this country of our great nation, are not as much upset about all the issues that media is upset about? What is the real role of Media in the society? Do you guys think that you are a better Judge of the situation because you are seeing Gujarat from the outside? In that case, I invite you to open your centers in cities like Ahmedabad / Baroda / Surat , in the areas where a common Gujarati STILL even TODAY, is afraid to go in broad day light. If you can take up this challenge and do that, I am sure your opinion on Gujarat would change. If you can not dare to do that, then LET democratically elected CM do his job to maintain law and order in this much needed department.
People of Gujarat, who gave our great nation, the leaders like Gandhi and Saradar, gave scientist like Vikram Sarabhai, eminent figures like Bhabhas/Tatas/Ambanies, great masters in various aspects of arts and ever vigorous entrepreneurs – are asking for due respect. That’s what Modi refers to, when he says “Gujarati Asmita”. Stop blaming Gujarat for Godhara. We all want to move forward. Its only the greatness of the same Gujarati people that wounds of “GodharaKand” – the precursor of Post Godhara, have healed this fast! Please STOP COVERING GUJARAT!!

Excellent work. Keep it up. Fearless journalists like yourself are an endangered species in our country. 99.5% of our media persons have a communist/socialist background. And that is why they are full of hatred towards us Gujarati people who are closer to captialism. For example, Prannoy Roy is a sadu-bhai of Prakash Karat. I mean Brinda Karat (Prakash Karat’s wife) and Prannoy Roy’s wife (Radhika Roy) are real sisters. Narmada-Virodhi Arundhati Roy is a cousin of Prannoy Roy (you see the anti-Gujarat connection!).
Roots of Oxford educated Karan Thapar and Rajdeep Sardesai can be traced back to Congress. Karan Thapar’s father was Indira’s pet and a corrupt army general. Rajdeep Sardesai is married to Sagarika Ghose whose father Bhaskar Ghose is a retired director of Door Darshan. During his era, DD earned the nickname Rajiv Darshan. (Hamein Dekhna Hai…). I regard Sagarika Ghose as one of the most arrogant and rough spoken journalist whose elitist and insulting tone hurts the listeners like iron-nails in the ears. Arnab Goswami and Rajdeep both are product of Prannoy Roy’s school of thoughts. I had some respect for Vinod Dua but now it seems that he has been bought over by Mr. Roy and he is now known to be completely anti-BJP and anti-Hindutva.
A very high percentage of current english mediapersons have done their schooling in Doon School where most of the rich congressmen send their kids (Rajiv Gandhi included).
For those who don’t know, some of the best journalists like Chitra Subramanyam (Bofors), Arun Shourie (Cement case against Abdul Raheman Antuley, Congress CM of Maharashtra - the Watergate of India, the only case in the history where a politician had to resign because of reports in a newspaper), Chandan Mitra (Pioneer, Bofors), Swapan Dasgupta - all of them were harassed and tortured in their career by Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi governments for their fearless journalism.
Instead of having their feet on the ground and head in the sky, these new breed of mediapersons have their feet in the sky and head on the ground. So no surprise that they can’t see things straight. It is our sheer misfortune that those who are not even worthy of Cocktail Party (Page 3) reporting have become mainstream mediapersons and top reporters of the country.
The only bright thing for us is that we are intelligent people. We Gujaratis have proved that we can read and see what they are trying to hide from us. We haven’t fallen for their falsehood and propoganda of Gobels-ian proportions. We have shown that we know what is good for us.
But only one chapter has completed. The story is far from over. Those who have fallen from grace are licking each other’s wounds. They are sure to come back. We have to be vigil. We have to be ready. They will grab every opportunity to look down on us and show us in a bad light. They have not given up. They will not give up so easily.
Here is a piece of what is still to come: “As far as Hindus of Gujarat are concerned, the mandate to Modi means that the death of an estimated 2,000 Muslims in 2002 was a right reprisal which should be taken as an eminently forgettable aberration, even if justice has not been done.”
This is from none other than Times of India - the darling of Congress. And the paragraph is taken from their front page headline article on Dec 24 2007. One can see that they are still not able accept their defeat.
So you have a long way to go. We are with you. Always remember that even a tiny sparkle of light is enough to see in the dark.

I am not a Gujarathi and I do not understand the language. I have been following the Hujarat elections with interest and am very glad that Shri Narendra Modi has given a befitting reply to the highly biased media. I am glad there is one state that has been able to appreciate the good work done by a government and not fallen for cheap populist offers. Your text in Gujarathi above seems to have exposed the media by stating the truth. I am interested in knowing what it is. Is it possible for you to translate this into English?

What Jai Gujarat has said is completely a fact. There is a big big big lobby against Gujarat in Media world.
In Gujarat some journalists are having an ego clash with Modi, some other journalists wants something and they are not getting from Modi but therefor they are anti modi, some are ideologically anti modi, some are paid by anti modi parties or people. But bloody hell to all those. Their impact was NIL in the elections. And congratulations to deshgujarat. I am following the progress of this website since it’s starting before more than a year. Deshgujarat is next big thing in Gujarat’s media world.

This is a great forum to share information guys, to know who is against Gujarat and why. So lets make few more things clear, for sake of those very innocent web surfers who are either pro or against Modi and do not know some basic facts. Here they are. Let’s invite other fellow Gujaratis to share their views and lets form a solid voice, with help of this website, which can be heard by common man of India if he/she is willing to hear.
Did Modi’s VISA to USA got rejected because of muslim genocide?
Totally FALSE. If there is something called “muslim genocide”, its happening in IRAQ for more than last 5 years. To use Modi’s name in that context, is gross injustice to him. What happened in Gujarat was merely a sharp public reaction to an unprecedented Hindu genocide in a Hindu Majority country. Why would USA be so much interested in few muslims dying, when they are killing more than that weekly? Their unhappiness was with Modi’s “Anti-Conversion” law. Friends, this is a HUGE issue. Partly, we all Hindus are responsible for this blunder. Over the period of time, knowingly or unknowingly, we have ignored certain parts of our nation, ignored certain tribes – Adivasis of India. Look what has happened to Nagaland and Meghalaya today. They have been MASS converted to Christianity. Constitution of India gives the freedom of religion and there is absolutely no offence if someone is willingly getting converted. But this MASS conversions to Christianity is nothing but brainwash and by sheer influence. If an Adiwasi wants a square meal and some basic education for his child, he MUST first get converted. You won’t believe but there are number of Adiwasis in Panchmahal and Dang districts today, who have already been converted to Christianity (by alluring them in to it.) Christianity should be limited to its missionary act and should leave the choice of conversion to an individual. That’s what Modi tried to implement. Bush government in USA has won elections on evangelistic votes. (Evangelistic = Christian fundamentalist). It’s a KNOWN fact that evangelistic church in USA has played a huge role in Bush getting elected. So, when couple of senators (like MLAs in India), who have strong evangelistic background, force Bush to reject Modi’s VISA, because Modi is not letting Adiwasis of Gujarat getting converted to Christianity, Bush has to act upon their request. Hence the denial of Modi’s VISA under the pretext of “violation of Human Rights”. If anything, he is PRESERVING human rights!!
Why Keshubapa is against Modi? Why Dhiru Gajera joined congress??
Just to give couple examples of why there was this rebel factor in Gujarat:
Modi’s non corrupt government catches a multi-millionaire from Saurastra (Porbandar area), who has to pay tax worth 1000 Crore Rupees!!! He is “khasum-khas” with Keshubapa, so he is not worried and rings Bapa. Bapa in his typical bapushahi style assures him that no one can touch him. Bapa rings up Gandhinagar and proclaims :
“Aaapdo manas chhe, ene haath lagadata nai” (he is my man, don’t touch him). As a sanskrit muktika goes “Yatha Raja Tatha Praja” , Gandhinagar bureaucrats ignore this call from Bapa as they have been backed up by Modi. That prominent figure, who was so much confident of not going to jail due to ties with Bapa, had to go to jail and pay the dues with penalty. Naturally that would upset bapa and he again proclaimed “ GandhiNagar ma Praja ni vaat sambhalva ma aavti nathi”. He wanted “Aapkhudi” Narendra Modi to go out of power!! No wonder rest of the Patidars didn’t bother to hear his plea!
Diru Gajera, the multi millionaire diamond merchant of Surat, is not happy with the wealth he has already built up. Instead of his next 7 generations, he is thinking about his next 700 generations. So, he still wants to make AS MUCH money as he could. He buys hectors and hectors of land near a projected airport site in Surat, at cheaper rate. Only him and few other know that this is going to be the projected airport site as the news are NOT official yet and so he could manage to buy land VERY cheap. He sells it off to prominent builders with higher rates and assures them that the price will go even higher once the airport site is being officially announced. Now, Narendra Modis government is planning to select another location (between Surat and Navasari), for a huge aircraft repair hub. (Equivalent to Alang Shipyard of BhavNagar, this would be Aircraft yard). This is a visionary project but doesn’t help Gajera as he thinks he is going to miss out big time on his promises given to builders. So, his loyalty towards builder lobby is forcing him to part from Modis vision for the betterment of Gujarat.
Friends there are numbers of reasons like these, the rebels got together. They all were looking for their personal gain rather than being focused on state development issues. Hats off to Modi, who has NOT mentioned ANY rebellion’s name in his public speeches NOR he tried to reveal all these facts. When TV reporter asked him why Keshubapa is against him, he just stared with confident eyes back at that reporter. He could have easily said all negative things about Keshubapa but for the betterment and unity of BJP he didn’t say a single word. He is now appealing that BJP should forgive rebels. That simply shows his greatness. I am sure from this episode Gajeras and Keshubhais of BJP has learnt a solid lesson.

absolutely correct. Mr JP, let me tell you what will happen to thses so-called fair (actually unfair) media channels. they have swayed too much to left. A regular middle class, hindu famlily is god-fearing, conervative, value oriented family. Rightnow they don’t have much of an option to what to watch for. But look at USA. similar channels like CNN,CNBC etc hated their middle class people. What happened? FOX news channel came and supported/presented their values. Now it is the fastest growing news network in usa. giving sleeless nights to leftist media. Same will happen to Indian leftist media. Market forces will produce similar channel in India and grow like anything. Rightnow this media has just lost symbolically. But as you said we have stopped watching anti-gujarati, anti-india channels. who will gove them advertisements when nobody watches them. also when smeone offers us alternate, we will watch it & those advertisers will come there. these idiots have to close their shop and loose in real terms. or, may be go to Pakistan!

About America’s denial of visa to Modi:
Surely it wasn’t the Godhra. US Secretary of State (I forgot the name of that ugly ?itch) was visiting New Delhi during those days met Sonia at her residence (10, Janpath) just one-two days before the visa denial came.
We are smart enough to know what is 2 + 2.

It was Christian missionaries that lobbied against Narendra Modi’s visa. Godhra was not responsible for visa denial. If America had refused Modi’s visa because of Godhra, think, Bush morally can’t go anywhere outside U.S. because of what he has done in Iraq. Iraq was much more than Godhra.
They lobbied with every effort that they could make, because Modi is seemed as a potential threat against Christian conversion in not only in Gujarat but possibly in India tomorrow.
