ફરીથી ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત આવી અને ફરીથી અમદાવાદીઓમાં ઘેલપણ છવાયુ. આખા સીજી રોડ પર દરેક વર્ષની માફક લોકો ચાલતા નીકળી પડ્યા. રોડ વાહનોના ટ્રાફીક માટે બંધ કરી દેવાયો હતો. જોવાની વાત એ છે કે સીજી રોડ પર આતશબાજીનો કોઈ પ્રોગ્રામ ન હતો, તમામ દુકાનો પોલીસે પહેલેથી જ બંધ કરાવી દીધી હતી, ખાણીપીણીની રેસ્ટોરન્ટો અને મ્યુનિસિપલ માર્કેટ પણ પોલીસે બંધ કરાવ્યુ હતુ, મ્યુઝીકનો પણ કોઈ પ્રોગ્રામ ન હતો. પરંતુ તેમ છતા પબ્લીક સીજીરોડ પર બસ ચાલવા નીકળી પડી હતી. આમથી તેમ ચાલે ને તેમથી આમ ચાલે, લો કરો વાત, આ ઉજવણી.બીજી તરફ સરખેજ ગાંધીનગર હાઈવે પર દારૂ પીને કાર ચલાવનારાઓ, સ્ટંટ બાઈકીંગ કરનારાઓ, અને ૧૨ વાગ્યા પછી વાહનો પર નીકળીને બૂમબરાડા પાડનારાઓનો આતંક હતો.
૩૧મી ડિસેમ્બરે વસ્ત્રાપુરની પ્રાઈડ હોટેલમાં ઈરાનની ડાન્સર અને બોલીવૂડ ડાન્સરના નામે મુંબઈની બાર ડાન્સરોનો નાચ થયો.અહીં અંદર ઘૂસવાનો કપલ પાસ ૩૫૦૦ રૂપિયાનો અને સીંગલ ૨૫૦૦ રૂપિયાનો હતો. તો સાયન્સ સીટી સામેના પ્લોટમાં રશિયન ડાન્સર્સનો લગભગ અન્ડરગારમેન્ટ કહી શકાય એવા કપડામાં ડાન્સ થયો. બોલ ડાન્સ તો બહુ જૂની વાત છે, પોલ ડાન્સ પણ થયો. કોઈએ મુંબઈથી બાર ટેન્ડર બોલાવ્યા તો કોઈએ કોલગર્લ બોલાવીને બીયર સાથે ઈસુનુ નવુ વર્ષ ઉજવ્યુ. કોઈએ બપોરથી બીજા દિવસની સવાર સુધીની પાર્ટી કરી તો કોઈએ અનલિમિટેડ દારૂ સાથેની પાર્ટી કરી.દારૂના ભાવ ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે જેમ જેમ રાત વધતી જાય તેમ તેમ વધતા જાય છે અને દોઢાથી બમણા થઈ જાય છે.માણસ એક વાર નશામાં આવે અને વધુ દારૂ માંગે ત્યારે સપ્લાયર મ્હોં માંગ્યા દામ માંગી શકે છે.
મેં રિપોર્ટીંગ દરમિયાન અલગ અલગ ડઝન ઠેકાણે ઉજવણીના રંગ અને ઢંગ જોયા. ત્રણ વર્ષ પહેલા ૩૧મી ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે અમદાવાદમાં બીજલ જોષી નામની એક છોકરી પર તેના બોયફ્રેન્ડ અને મિત્રોએ બળાત્કાર કર્યો હતો પછી બીજલ મોડી રાત્રે પોલીસ સ્ટેશને ફરિયાદ નોંધાવવા પહોંચી હતી અને ત્રીજા દિવસે તેણે આત્મહત્યા કરી હતી. હકીકત એ છે કે અનેક બીજલો આબરૂની બીકે પોલીસમાં ફરિયાદ કરવા પહોંચતી નથી. ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરે બોયફ્રેન્ડસ સાથે રખડતી અનેક જનચંપાઓ પહેલી જાન્યુઆરીની સવારે રડતી હોય છે.તેમની વાત તેમની ખાસ બહેનપણીઓના સર્કલથી આગળ વધતી નથી હોતી. ૩૧ની રાત્રે વિવિધ ઠેકાણે સાક્ષીસ્વરૂપ હાજરી આપીને છેલ્લે હું ફરિયાદોનો આલમ જોવા સેટેલાઈટ પોલીસ સ્ટેશનમાં બેઠો હતો, એક છોકરો દારૂડિયા કાર ચાલકે તેનુ બાઈક ઠોકી નાખ્યુ એની ફરિયાદ કરવા આવ્યો હતો. બીજો છોકરો બાઈકની ઉઠાંતરી થઈ હતી એની ફરિયાદ માટે આવ્યો હતો…અમદાવાદમાં ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત સૌથી અનસેફ હોય છે.
દરઅસલ ૨૫ ડિસેમ્બર પહેલાથી જ નાતાલનું નાટક શરૂ થઈ જાય છે. નહેરૂ બ્રીજ પર મુફલિસો થોડા થોડા અંતરે ફૂટપાથ પર બેસીને લાલ રંગની સાન્તા ટોપી વહેંચતા હતા ત્યારથી માલૂમ પડ્યુ કે નાતાલ આવી રહી છે. પછી તો નાના નાના સ્ટોર પર સાંતાક્લોસનો ડ્રેસ સજીને સૂકલકડીઓ બેઠા હોય અને જોવાની ગમ્મત પડે એ નજારા દેખાયા. અને પછી અખબારોમા હોટેલો અને પાર્ટીપ્લોટોની જાહેર ડાન્સ પાર્ટીઓની જાહેરખબરો આવવા લાગી…
મારે આ વચ્ચે અહીં અમદાવાદના ગુજરાતી દૈનિકમાં વાચકોના પત્રોના વિભાગમાં પ્રકાશિત થયેલા ફાધર વિલિયમના પત્રનો ખાસ ઉલ્લેખ કરવો છે(પત્રકારો અને કોલમીસ્ટો કરતા વાંચક વધુ સેન્સીબલ વાત કરતો હોય છે) ફાધર વિલિયમ લખે છે કે “ન્યૂ યરની ઉજવણી કરવા હોટેલો, પાર્ટી પ્લોટો વગેરેએ તૈયારીઓ કરી લીધી છે અને ખાણીપીણી, ડાન્સપાર્ટીઓ પણ ગોઠવવામાં આવે છે, જેમાં મોટેભાગે સંપન્ન વર્ગના અને તે પણ બિનખ્રિસ્તી પરિવારો અને તેમના યુવાન સંતાનો ભાગ લેતા હોય છે. મધરાતે નવા વર્ષને આવકારવા અને તેમાં ઈશ્વરના આશીર્વાદ યાચવા નગરના ખ્રિસ્તીઓ રાત્રે ૧૧ વાગ્યે તેમનાં ઉપાસના સ્થળોએ પ્રાર્થનાસભા યોજી શાંતિ અને શિસ્તમય ભજનકીર્તન કરતા હોય છે. આ જ સમયે મુખ્ય રોડ અને વિસ્તારોમાં યુવા વર્ગ ફટાકડાનો ઘોંઘાટ તથા બૂમરાણ મચાવે છે. સી.જી. રોડ પર સમી સાંજે ટ્રાફિક બંધ કરી દેવાતો હોય છે. વિનમ્ર વિનંતી કે નાતાલ-નૂતન વર્ષની આ પ્રકારની ઊજવણી બંધ કરવામાં આવે અને એ માટે સહુ સહકાર આપે. આવી ઉજવણીઓને નાતાલ તથા નૂતનવર્ષના પવિત્ર પર્વો સાથે બિલકુલ લેવાદેવા નથી. આ પ્રકારની ઉજવણીને કારણે ખ્રિસ્તી ધર્મ અને તેના પર્વો વિશે પ્રજામાં ખાસ કરીને તો યુવાવર્ગમાં ખોડી સમજ ઉભી થાય છે જે બિલકુલ યોગ્ય નથી, અલબત્ત અપમાનજનક લાગે છે.”
હવે જરા ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રિ કેવી હતી એનો ચિતાર આપતુ અખબારોમાંથી કરેલુ આ ચયન જોઈ જાઓ. યાદ રાખો કે કુલ કુપ્રવૃત્તિની પાંચ જ ટકા હકીકત પોલીસ ચોપડે પહોંચતી હોય છે અને એમાંની ત્રણ જ ટકા પત્રકારોને મળતી હોય છે જે છાપામાં છપાતી હોય છે.
-૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે ગુજરાતમાં ૭૦થી વધુ વાહન અકસ્માત સર્જાયા. ૨૩ અકસ્માતો રાતના ૧૦થી ૪ના ગાળામાં હતા.
-અમદાવાદના અમરાઈવાડી-ખોખરામાં ચર્ચની ઉજવણીમાં ઘૂસેલા દારૂડિયાઓને પોલીસે બહાર કાઢતા તેમણે પોલીસનું બાઈક સળગાવ્યું
-સેટેલાઈટ પોલીસે બાઈકસવારને ટક્કર મારી પાડી દેનાર ફરાર કારચાલક સામે કેસ નોંધ્યો છે.
-નવા વાડજમાં પોલીસે આઠ બોટલ સાથે બે દારૂડિયાઓની ધરપકડ કરી.
-વીએસ હોસ્પિટલના ઝાંપા પાસેથી હોન્ડા સીટી કારમાં દારૂ પી રહેલાઓ પકડાયા.
-પરિમલ ગાર્ડન પાસેની બેંક પર ત્રણ જણાએ દારૂ પીને પથ્થરમારો કર્યો ને બેંકના કાચ તોડી નાખ્યા.
-૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરે અમદાવાદમાં દારૂનો નશો કરી વાહન ચલાવતા ૧૬ જણાની પોલીસે ધરપકડ કરી.
-૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્ર પોલીસે અમદાવાદના કાંકરીયા, સીજી રોડ, એસજી હાઈવે પર લાઠીઓ ચલાવવી પડી.
-સુરતમાં પોલીસે ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે ૫૫ દારૂડિયાઓ પકડ્યા.
-સુરતમાં પોલીસે દારૂડિયાઓનું ચેકીંગ કરતા ડુમસની ઝાડીમાં દારૂડિયાઓએ આખી રાત વીતાવવી પડી.
-રાજકોટની એક પાર્ટીમાં ડાન્સ કરવામાં એક યુવાન એવો તો મશગૂલ થઈ ગયો કે ડાન્સફ્લોર પર જ મૃત્યુ પામ્યો.
-રાજકોટ પોલીસે ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે ૧૦૦ દારૂડિયાઓ પકડ્યા.લોકઅપમાં દારૂડિયાઓનો ઢગલો થતા જગ્યા ખૂટી.
-કચ્છમાં ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે ૫૫ દારૂડિયાઓ ઝડપાયા.કંડલા સંકુલમાંથી ૨૯ દારૂડિયાઓ પકડાયા.
-મુંબઈમાં સત્તરથી વીસ વર્ષની ઉંમરના છ ગુજરાતી મિત્રોની કારને ૩૧ ડિસેમ્બરની રાત્રે અકસ્માત થતા તમામ મૃત્યુ પામ્યા.

my openion is new yuva janaration they dont know how to celebrate christmas.they just want to any reason for drinking alcohol and looking for some thing to nacket dancer ,some is homo some is type of med mentality.they have to find out how to enjoy new year or any other fastival;they have to find out why we celebrate the fastival and how to celebrate , but currently the totaly all over mania has been change.if they are not taking a seriyasly this matter, they dont know how is the future life ,and when they started a real life after marrage ,is so many responsibilies ,that time they dont know how to cry.

how we make gujarat more better place………..
1) 50% or more female go in military. make military training compulsory for female. and female sex education and pregnancy education. if female child not educated make punishment to father and mother.
2) putting india flag on each and every house. supporting all gujarat and indian govt. anti terrorist operation and giving them support and hand.
3) starting all hindu intercaste marriage. join all caste and make india more powerful.
4) if u live abroad promote gujarat tourism in world or where ever u live so lots money and tourist comes in gujarat.
5) using all natural resources gujarat have. its river, dams, forest, hill and places.
6) make law that u cant make more temple, mosque, church or any religious thing and that all money go library, hospital, hotel, garden, park and laboratory.

elebrate HINDU NEW YEAR and not 31st December as New Year’s day!
The celebrations of 31st December are a part of the Western culture. However, now even Hindus consider it as one of the different festivals of India. Thus, they have begun celebrating this day in large numbers. There are well-planned preparations for this day with respect to what should be done, what should be purchased, which restaurant to visit and which place to party. This day is celebrated everywhere from big cities to remote villages; which do not even have regular water and power supply. Hindus do not realise that by following the western culture blindly, not only are they ruining their own culture but also leading their future generations into hedonism by making them imbibe western cultural values. This article focuses on these very points.
Conversion of faith for a day
When a person converts his faith, he celebrates the customs and festivals of that faith and follows it. Likewise, if we do not follow our faith and celebrate 31st December and Christmas, which are rituals of another faith, it is similar to getting converted to that faith for a day! However, Hindus are not aware that by setting aside their own religion and celebrating days such as 31st December, etc. they are committing a sin of betraying their religion. Today, there is an urge to impart religious education to Hindus to awaken their religious pride.
We try to be ‘oh-so-secular’ when interacting with people of other cults. We join in the christmas or eid celebrations enthusiastically and in great numbers while christians and muslims don’t.
Lets see, do muslim(our neighbours, pakistan, BD) or christian (secular on paper only) countries celebrate Diwali or other Hindu festivals with their own Hindu countrymen? On Hindu festivals, do these countries give national holidays for their Hindu citizens? Here we are in India, cults like islamism and christianism which have brought nothing but death and destruction, we celebrate their festivals.
We should not celebrate new year on 1 st January & should celebrate new year on HINDU NEW YEAR…

Let us stop giving importence to the western culture.It is not worth enough to follow them on spititual ground.That path will not take us to the platform of spiritual and to the abobe of Supreme Lord. It is the practical one , it will lead to only frustration

I am not celebrating it for the last 17 years instead I send approx. 90-100 Nav Varsh cards on Vikrami Savant(hindu tithi).
Natural:
The spring season commences, the trees bear new foliage and appear fresh. In the Shrimadbhagvadgita the Lord says, ‘Among the seasons, the exhilarating Vasant season (spring) is My manifestation’, thus signifying the importance of this season. In this season the weather is pleasant and exhilarating.
Historical: Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, returned to Ayodhya after slaying the demons and Ravan, an evil king of the demons who had kidnapped Lord Rama’s queen, Sita on this day. Also, he slayed Vali, a powerful and evil king of Kishkindha on the same day.
Spiritual:
1. Since on this day Lord Brahma created the universe and the Satyayug began, it marks the commencement of the New Year.
2. It is one of the three-and-a-half auspicious days (sade teen muhurtas). There is a special feature of the three and a half auspicious days. Unlike other days when one has to choose an auspicious moment to perform a ritual, on these days one does not need to do the same; as every moment of these days is auspicious.
3. The higher incidence of prajapati sanyukta (conjoint) frequencies on the earth: The Hindu Holy text Ganeshyamal tantra states that in total 108 subtle frequencies reach the earth. These stem from the four parts (charans) of each of the twenty-seven lunar asterisms from the Nakshtralok. They disintegrate further into four type of frequencies : yama, surya, prajapati and sanyukta (conjoint), and strike the earth in varying proportions throughout the year. On the first day of the month of Chaitra, the prajapati sanyukta and surya sanyukta frequencies, which have the potential to increase the spiritual/subtle purity (sattva) component, descend in larger quantities. Also on this day, the maximum number of the purity-predominant prajapati sanyukta frequencies descends upon the earth.
Everything is good, celebrate all spread all. Still India needs a strong political leadership to implement. Sonia Gandhi and friends (Christians ) are trying to change the face of India by converting people and changing all policies. So needs to obstruct such activities. How many percentage of Hindu population have the knowledge of Hindu Religion. What kind of measures taken to educate the poor masses of Hindu including tribals and schedule castes. Even the higher class do not have enough knowledge about Hindu religion. Majority of Hindus do not know how many religious books are there.

For Hindus everywhere, thier New Year falls in Vasanta season,….
They have different names as well, like diwali navvarsh in gujarat, Bihu in Assam, Vishu in Kerala, Pongal in Tamil Nad, Gudhi Padva in Maharashtra, UGADI in karnataka & Andhra, “poila boishakh” i.e, the beginning of the bharatiya nabobarsho etc.
To follow blindly the Gregorian Calendar is not part of Hndu tradition because new year for us is a spiritual rededication to our values, and not a time for hedonistic revelry. A pity , followers of foreign religion are so enslaved that they forget their ancient practices.!

Hindus! Live as Hindus with pride at least for a day!
On this day you can do the following acts -
1. On the night of 31st December or on 1st of January do not exchange New Year greetings with any Hindu.
2. If any Hindu gives you New Year greetings on that day then make him realise this mistake and emphatically tell him that Gudhipadva is the beginning of our Hindu New Year.
3. Send New Year greeting cards to relatives and friends on Gudhipadva day.
4. Pass on this information to maximum people in your contact and prevent them from committing a probable sin.
5. Remember! Celebrating New Year on Gudhipadva instead of 31st December is akin to creating pride for our own religion, nation and language.

31 st is not a part of true hinduism . i think modi should give message to people to maintain hinduism.b cuz hindusim doesnt give message of drinking alcohol, n hindusim doesnt allows to change the religion, to enjoy 31st is also similar as to hate hindu calendar.if inthis 31st enjoyment government n people will not awake then the time will come when it will be compare as football violence in western countries as 31st enjoyment in india.specially when the swedish father said that her daughter were been abused badly on 31st in kochi . how it is shameful for india.

“Utsav Preeya ManvaHa” goes the famous Sanskrit saying! (Meaning everyone loves celebrations/festivals) I dont think celebrating 31st has ANYTHING to do with spirituality. I dont think any hindu, however ignorant he is about his religion , is celebrating 31st as a religious festival. In India this is more of a social festival. I don’t see much of a problem even in greeting someone for a New Year wish, purely because this wish has no spiritual aspect. Its merely for practicality we have adapted to this Gregorian calendar. Just as we have adapted to Metric System.
Having said that, I do see your concerns. All I want to say is, boycotting a social festival is not the solution. True solution is: make a Hindu realize what a Hindu New Year stands for, from spiritual aspect. Lets try to spread the awareness that “we need to know more about our own religious festivals”. And that is a sad reality. WE DO! Lets be curious and ask more question to our elderly relatives about Hindu spirituality. Lets try to read and make others read Swami Vivekananda or Shri ParamHamsa Yogananda or work of other spiritual writers. Lets read and make others read simple translations of Upanishadas/Bhaagavat Geeta, in our local language. Lets gift these type of books to our relatives and friends on their birthdays or other auspicious days/events. That, in my humble opinion would be the right step.
Also, celebration of Christmas or New Year is not British legacy. This has picked up only in last 10 years for the economic reasons. This helps in boosting the health of local economy. So, I am really not against it. I am against the nuisance that has come with its celebration. (Alcohol, foreign dancers etc.) I would strongly oppose that aspect of celebration. It should be banned because that simply attacks the moral of society.
Only in India you can see these many festivals being celebrated. Its something to be proud of and not be afraid of, if we have the right knowledge!
