First Chief Minister called as CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of his state in India was Andhra Pradesh’s former CM Chandrababu Naidu. Then came Narendra Modi who also was called CEO of Gujarat state popularly. Initially it seemed Narendra Modi used to enjoy this term but now he has deserted this liking.

“I am not ‘CEO’ of any state. I have problem with this term ‘CEO’ because any ‘CEO’ will just look for his company’s good. But I don’t look just at my government’s good but peoples good. I believe in participation of common man’s strength in government’s work.” Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi said yesterday, while talking to postgraduate Public management and policy course students from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad(IIMA).

Modi said “We should not call India, a developing nation. India’s cultural heritage, administrative system, public ethics and power of people all factors together are committed to continuous growth.”

IIM Ahmedabad’s 39 post graduate students who come from different sectors such as administrative system, public, corporate and defense sectors participated in almost two hour discussion session with Narendra Modi. Session was conceived by IIMA’s popular professor Ravi.C.

“India is a nations of villages. Gandhiji’s philosophy is still relevant for our rural economy. We just need to implement it in today’s contemporary context and for that strong will power is necessary. Not politicians but Rishi-Maharshis created this nation. If people have faith in government, they surely support the administration. Gujarat has developed this model. Secret of success lies in spirit of service. Think every task, every responsibility as only and only service for the people” Modi said.
