Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address Gujaratis in America on 31st of August, 2008 at 5.00 am Indian standard time via satellite video conferencing.

Around 35,000 Gujaratis are expected to assemble for three days (from 29th of August to 31st August) at ‘Chalo Gujarat’ convention in Edison, NJ based Raritan expo center . Narendra Modi who was invited to this function couple of months back had given his consent to address the convention via satellite video.

Accordingly, Modi will address valedictory part of ‘Chalo Gujarat’ international Gujarati convention via video conferencing from his Gandhinagar based residence.

Narendra Modi’s satellite speech will be simultaneously web-casted through internet (watch out updates on DeshGujarat.Com for more on this). Saurabh Patel, Energy Minister of Gujarat will represent Gujarat government in ‘Chalo Gujarat’ convention.

‘Chalo Gujarat 2008’ is organized by ‘Association of Indians in America(AIANA)’. AIANA was formed on the issue of America’s denial to grant visa to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in year 2005. It was AIANA that had organized Narendra Modi’s satellite video speech soon after America denied Modi a visa. AIANA had organized ‘Chalo Gujarati’ convention in year 2006 too which had got amazing response even in adverse weather.

Gujarati big wigs like Mukesh Ambani, Morari Bapu, Praful Patel, Gautam Adani, Parimal Nathwani, Sam Pitroda, Jagdish Bhagwati, Bakul Dholakia, Adhyatmanandaji, Madhavapriyadasji, cricketer Parthiv Patel, Shahbuddin Rathod, Bhikhudan Gadhvi, Falguni Pathak, Devang Patel, Divaliben Bhil, Hemant Chauhan, poet Suresh Dalal, poet Rajesh Vyas ‘Miskin’, poet and drama director Saumya Joshi, poet Harsh Brahmbhatt, vetern columnist Vinod Bhatt, Pankaj Udhas, Manhar Udhas, Arvind Trivedi(who played Ravan in Ramayan tv serial), Aishwarya Majmudar, Tushar Shukla, Dhvanit Thacker(Radio Mirchi), Purushottam Upadhyay, Gaurang Vyas, Shyamal-Saumil-Arti Munshi, Soli and Nisha Kapadia, Sanjay Oza, Parthiv Gohil, Alap Desai, Urvish-Vaishali are expected to participate in ‘Chalo Gujarat’.

Ahmedabad based builders and property developer group ‘GIHED’ is to participate in ‘Chalo Gujarat’ with it’s special gallery. Ahmedabad’s Rajwadu restaurant’s 40 cooks are going to cater special Gujarati traditional food in this convention. Ticket is priced at 30 dollars each for three days convention. Handicapped girls group ‘Manthan’ from Gandhinagar will perform a special dance. Porbandar’s Maher traditional dance group will perform warrior dance.
