Narmada’s Kharaghoda branch canal to benefit 16675 farmers

Narmada canal’s Kharaghoda branch canal will be inaugurated on Thursday. 43.68 Kms Kharaghoda branch canal with concrete lining has 721 cusec capacity. Rs 19 crore Kharaghoda branch will benefit 34042 hectare irrigation area. 57 villages and 16675 farmers will be benefited by Kharaghoda branch canal. As of now in this winter season farmers of 16 villages connected with initial 26 Kms of branch canal will be benefited. Government of Gujarat’s information department release claims that Work on rest of the part of the branch canal will be completed before 2011.
