Terrorists slit Gujarati fisherman’s throat for Islamic style beheading

Terrorists slit Gujarati fisherman’s throat for Islamic style beheading
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 29 November, 2008

38 year old Gujarati fisherman Amarsinh Naran Solanki’s body was found on board of the fishing boat, Kuber with his limbs tied, eyes blindfolded and neck slit open. Amarsinh Naran Solanki was killed in a brutal manner by the Islamic Jihadi terrorists from Pakistan who attacked Mumbai on 26th of November. The terrorists tied Amarsinh’s limbs and put a band around his eyes and then knifed his neck to behead him following the Islamic slit-throat-Halal method.

Amarisinhbhai’s wife Raniben and their three sons Dilip(20), Hitesh(18) and Shilpesh(16) heard sad news of Amarsinhbhai’s killing on TV. They are trying to bring Amarsinhbhai’s dead body to their native village Zolavadi(Diu) through the district collector. Amarsinhbhai was only earning member in the family.

The fishing boat, Kuber, which is believed to be the mother boat used to carry the terrorists to the off Mumbai coast to launch the attacks was found drifting 5-6 nautical miles off the Mumbai shore during an aerial recce on the waters of Arabian Sea by the Indian Navy. Besides Amarsinh Solanki there were four other crew members in the boat according to boat owner Vinodbhai Masani who is a businessman in Porbandar. While Amar Narayan’s body was found other four crew members Balwant Prabhu Tandel, 45, Mukesh Ambu Rathod, 20, and Natu Nanu Rathod, 20, of Navsari(Machhivad, Vansi Borsi) and Ramesh Nagji, 37, of Junagadh district are still missing. It is clear that Islamic terrorists let Amarsinh live longer in the ship to help them with navigation.

The owner of Kuber Vinod Masani(Kharvawad in Porbandar) and his brother Hiralal have been detained for questioning by the Gujarat police. Vinod Masani has now also been called to Mumbai for questioning and identification of the crew. Vinod Masani owns five more fishing boat, including the two that had been seized by Pakistani agencies earlier for trespassing into their waters. Masani’s brother, Hiralal, holds the power of attorney over Kuber. Hiralal, in turn, passed on the rights to a sub-contractor. It was this sub contractor who used to employ crew in Kuber.

The satellite phone and global positioning system (GPS) map recovered from a trawler abandoned in the high seas are now among the most crucial pieces of evidence connected to the terror attacks on Mumbai. Intelligence agencies are checking the satellite phone’s records to track the places from where calls were made to the vessel.

The boat has been now handed over to the Mumbai police. The trawler left Gujarat 14 days ago on November 13(some say 14) with six crew members, three of whom are believed to have been killed by the terrorists who hijacked the boat near the Gujarat/Pakistan mid sea maritime boundary, where incursions by vessels on both sides are frequent.

The terrorists are believed to have used the trawler for cover to make the journey to Mumbai without being detected by the Coast Guard. A nondescript, 25-metre-long fishing vessel bearing the name ‘Kuber’ in the Gujarati script and a Gujarat registration number would have barely raised an eyebrow in a region dotted with numerous such boats. To complete the appearance, it carried nearly 50 kg of marinated fish, rice and lentils.

It is now revealed that eight Islamic Jihadi terrorists got off Kuber and boarded an inflatable dinghy Gemini craft which they used to land on Mumbai’s shore. A Gemini craft is ideal for short-distance travel in the sea but not for long hauls.
